Omega was the buyer. Insurance company for the auction house likely covers and goes after the seller. It is not as if they don’t have all their info.

Yup from what I read they (Omega) purposely jacked up the bidding so no one else who get it that’s the way I interpreted it. Unless I’m wrong please correct me.
The entire staff at Omega HQ:
what betas me Is how a watch that was predicted to be well in the 6 figure range and eventually even surpassed the million by some margin wasn't inspected throughly BEFORE the auction ... I mean it clearly was possible to figure out it wasn't as described.
I think what that shows above all else is that even "reputable" sellers such as auction houses don't always properly inspect watches before selling.
