The penultimate watch in my collection have arrived!

So yeah, bought this watch at Gnomon for my birthday and didn't think too much of it since it's supposed to arrive on the 28th.

Imagine my surprise when the courier called me to say that my parcel is arriving. Gave him some directions and not 5 minutes later, voilà!

Changed the leather strap to the supplied Nato strap (@TonyXXX was right, it's criminally short). Surprisingly small. 41mm bezel, 39mm case so turning that diving bezel is a joy but it's a pain to screw the crown back. This one makes you glad you bought a watch winder.

Thanks to the folks at Gnomon for their packaging and one sweet, sweet watch. Heck, I even got a free microfiber cloth and a Gnomon watch pouch. All in all, a very good birthday present for myself (pats my own back for awesome present).

Like I said, this is the penultimate watch in my collection for the forseeable future (just my Revelot 39 left, woohoo!)

Edit: forgot the obligatory pictures!

Excellent brother 👍 I knew you would love it, it’s just a shame about the strap.

Enjoy your new watch 👏

Thank you, thank you! I'm certainly on cloud nine by now. My nato straps arrived, then my watch, tomorrow my rubber straps. Whoo! Best day, this Saturday.

Looks great👍The dimensions seems perfect. I really like the matt dial and and the depth of the dial. You have created a great strap combo there.

·

Very nice, the current NATO looks good, but this one should rock those rubber straps too.

The rubber's coming. I got a Chinese cheapo FKM black strap and a local stock rubber strap too. The local should arrive tomorrow.

The local strap ($8.60)

The China strap ($10.70).

This comes stock with the watch. Now I wish there's a rubber strap in these colours. They really complement the dial.

A couple of lume shots. One in night mode, the other just plain camera. Not the brightest of lume but it works so I'm satisfied.

Continue to enjoy your weekend, bud! Really happy for you. Happy Birthday! 🍻🥳

Try also getting a rubber strap like this.

It balances the knurling of the bezel. 😉

Surely. 👍 By the way, I got that silicone strap for only MYR 11.67 😉

Tooltastic 🥳

·

Congratulations. Interested to see what strap ultimately shows it off best.

·

I wasn't aware of this brand, but this is interesting. And I agree on the black rubber.

·

Congrats bro! Looking ruggedly awaesome. And happy birthday!

I wasn't aware of this brand, but this is interesting. And I agree on the black rubber.

It's a German brand, part of the 2000s explosion of German manufacturers. I think one of their claim to fame is that a lot of Dievas cases were Fricker case divers.

The tactical series (Marine and Vortex 500, the Marine Mojave and the Phantom) were either some the last of Frickers case built or were designed by the man.

Thank you. Just go to Gnomon watches. They sell several German brands there.

Yeah. Known them for a few years. They‘re quite well known locally.

·

 Congrats!  love that destro configuration!

·

Thank you. They are good looking, very tool-ish, no nonsense designs aren't they? I am very pleased to have a German design, the tool watch with marine steel that's hardened so I don't have to worry about scratching it.

·
TalkingDugong

Damn...so cheap. Where did you get it?

(For those not familiar with MYR that's equal to $2.60, so yeah, damn cheap).

Here you go, bud. 👍 https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.g1wzo

Thanks. 👍

Wait a tick. I know that wrist. Are you J*** who made the review on 11th October? Small world.

·

That's a great looking watch, I really like the no nonsense tool look!

Finding straps that work with a watch is half the fun sometimes.

I was thinking about your dilemma with the stock strap. The Dievas I purchased came on a rubber strap and it's super comfortable and long enough for my 18cm wrist and I still had a couple of holes left.

You could try contacting Gnomon and explain your issue with the leather strap being too short for your wrist and see if they will exchange it for the Dievas rubber strap. Obviously the supplied strap that came with yours is unworn and so basically new so I don't see why they wouldn't consider this, even if you just had to pay the postage.

I think it's worth a try, the worst they can do is say no!

Here's a pick of mine with the rubber strap and others.

Nah, it's alright. The strap I can recycle for my nephew's watch and I am fond(er) of the Marine Mojave than the Marine or Vortex 500. So yeah, it's good.

I mean't exchange the strap, not the watch. But if your not bothered then all good mate, enjoy 🙏

·

So yeah, the rubber strap has arrived.

Drumrolls

So, I put the rubber strap on and here it is. Be gentle with me. 😛

Now I can go and bathe with it! First checks to see if the crown is fully screwed shut

·

Is the Marine Mojave a limited edition of the Marine 500? I just noticed the serial number. Mine's number 66.

Edit: Nevermind, turns out they only sell these in small numbers of 500 with 100 watch per batch. Cool.
