I'm leaving it as is because it is only original once. Also the fact that a nice even patina can never be re-created on a brand new watch. The lume is of course dead, if I try to charge it up with a bright light there is only a brief flicker of luminous activity.
I long ago accepted the fact that all vintage watches don't need to be made to look new.
