I've read about this in books but the video simplifies it.  I could have done without the satire and comedy but that's a style thing.

Oh, 6:11 was funny.

I'm all for time corresponding to sun position. I don't quite understand where hours one through three went, so I kind of prefer Byzantine time in that regard.

I didn't know this either - but I do have lots of pix of historical clocks from the Tokyo museum of history.  Low and behold: time from 4 to 9, then repeating.  Damn!
