Now there's some seikos I'd love to have!! You must have the Pogue in another box😉

·

Awesome!!

·

Great Seiko collection. I really like the 62 MAS and the Monaco.

·

Wow that's a seriously nice collection! How long have you been collecting vintage Seiko if you don't mind me asking?

·

I'm a huge vintage Seiko chrono fan (have a birth year 6138, and 6139 from 1970) so that Monaco is the one I zeroed in on 😍

Surprisingly, I don't currently own a Pogue, and I'm not considering one....here is why-

Many years ago I owned a blue Pogue all original on the original bracelet which was long enough to fit my wrist.  Gorgeous watch, but it just didn't wear well for me.  A friend of mine wanted it (same size wrist as me) and I sold it to him.  My original thought was to go buy a classic yellow Pogue; however, it was at that point that I bought the blue Monaco instead.  The Monaco has a 12 hour chronograph while the Pogue has the 30 minute chronograph.

I've been serious about Seiko watches since about 1979; however at that point I would not have called myself a collector.  Sadly, a few of my early pieces were lost (destroyed) over the years.

This is what happens when you are taking your watches into the water, and using them for work.

I looked into getting a KS for like 6 months. That 5345 is awakening that fire again. Beautiful collection there, I really love the variety.

·

Amazing collection

·

Very Nice SJ!  Definitely have some on my Vintage Seiko list!

·

love that monaco dial color

love that monaco dial color

Faded blue, I think the original color was darker.  One thing I know for sure- the original Swedish Gent that wore this, loved it and wore it a lot.  It has that even wear all over it, the only thing I changed was the crystal because it had a crack in it.

There are a lot of cool Seiko watches at that time because they had introduced their first automatic chronographs.  These were made super tough and reliable, combined with magic lever fast winding and period good looks made most of them a winner!

I think the Monaco is the lead in a star-studded cast.

I'm not quite at your body count of seiko chronos but here's what I've collected since getting into the 6138/6139s

Image

Picked up the black one at a great price because it had the bracelet I wanted, which is now on the white helmet

Cheers on the cokes

Awesome! I regret selling my black helmet as it wore so nice. Great trio! 👍🏽

Hang Ten John ! This collection is the Bomb 👍

How do you like the MAS on the wrist? Ive tried the reissue (SPB143) in store and have a Chinese MAS style but I always find them too top heavy. They move around alot on my wrist, even on a strap. Maybe its just me? Maybe the vintage ones are lighter?

The original 62 MAS is only 37mm I believe, significantly smaller than the reissues

·

Nice #seiko collection!

·

As a budding Seiko collector, this is beyond awe-inspiring. Never heard of the 7016-5001 "Monaco" before... NOW I NEED ONE—what a fantastic watch box.

·

Amazing collection! The UFO and Monaco are two of my favorites from the 70's

·

Great box and a great looking 62MAS.

·

Big fan of everything in the top row! Solid!

·

Beautiful collection, Sir! 😎 Enjoy 😍

Big fan of everything in the top row! Solid!

At one time Seiko absolutely ruled the dive watch market, the bottom row mostly reflects that point.

·

A true Seikofile! I love it

A true Seikofile! I love it

With Seiko, I'm not sure it will ever be done....."Houston we have a Problem."

·

Wow, that’s some Seiko box.

I bet if you started from scratch to assemble a similar collection now, you would be firmly in the Grand Seiko territory for money. Probably far less enjoyment though.
