Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 Compression - A Kitchen Table Review

Yet another kitchen table watch review.

This watch is a very nice offering and a worthy addition to any collection. Based upon the Zodiac dive watch of the 1950's it offers a different aesthetic to usual offerings in this category. The markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12 plus the skeleton hands make it so. Rated to 20 Atm, the screw down back features an relief Zodiac logo. Measuring 40 mm in diameter, the watch looks appropriate on the vast majority of wrist sizes. The crown is domed as with other SSW 53's. The strap is a generous lenght even fitting my large wrist confortably and the suple rubber that is quite confortable while wearing. That being said, fitting over a wet suit might be a problem as there is no diver's extension. The holes and raised elements of the strap add a positive element of design while the buckle is a simple tang affair.

The movement is from STP, reegulated in five (5) positions and exclusive to the Fosil Group. Performance wise, it keeps great time on the wrist returning rate results worthy of COSC, but it is not a COSC certified chronometer. This movement variation features a date complication with a date disk coordinated to the dial color. A nice feature.

All in all, it is very nice watch that I can recommend, especially if you can find at a discount.
