Collection so far, where to go next ?

Hey all so got to this point with my collection, happy so far but not sure where to go next or whether to pause for a bit and wait to see how the market goes ?

Next step is a bigger box.

Maybe an 8 or 12 slot.

Once you get that it'll fill up surprisingly fast.

·

Next, more dial colors.

·

When you started collecting did you have a goal?

Other half might panic if I get a bigger box lol

Yeah definitely I love blue but need to get more of a mix in there, got a Salmon Baltic MR01 on order should diversify a bit!

·

Is that the stackers watch box from John Lewis?

on you question: have you considered a dress watch? Overall sort of depends on your watch goals I think, but dress watch spring to mind

Mostly I've just bought ones I liked, I think now though I'm looking at having great examples of different types, so dress, chrono, pilot etc. Part of me thinks speedy might be next, would also love a tank as my dress watch

It is yes! And I have a Baltic MR01 on order but was also looking at a Cartier Tank or a Fears 1930 as a dress watch they're so classic

So, no real plan, and you want great examples of each type? That is a bucket that will never be filled. I am also concerned because you are kind of courting the opinion of others about what to do next - what do you want to do next? What models have you seen that you realistically think you will pick up next? Can you get that Speedy or Tank now, is it time-critical?

How long have you had each watch? What do you like about each one? What don’t you like? Could you see yourself with any of the ones you have long term? What doesn’t get worn and why?

edit - I see you also have a Baltic on order, so you’ve already chosen more than what is on display. Perhaps wear the Baltic for a while and see how you feel.

It is your collection at the end of the day 😀

Nice - I have the same one 👌🏻

I think a dress watch could be a great addition!

·

I'll vote for a Speedmaster

·

step 1 buy a bigger box

step 2 buy a  watch roll (f.e. the Bark and Jack leather one)

step 3 buy a omega speedmaster.

step 4 buy a JLC Reverso or a Cartier Tank.

step 5 buy a GShock

step 6 sell everything

step 7 buy a Rolex Submariner

Seeing your collection makes me realize that i am missing a blue dial in my collection haha

You seem to be more sporty and casual so maybe try something with a white dial? Depending on your budget i would look into the hamilton khaki field, Panerai Quaranta and Explorer ii polar. All with white dials, very different styles, yet sporty and casual.

·

Great collection - all bangers! My tip would be to do nothing at all. By that, I mean don’t worry about what your next will be - when you finally come across something that excites you, that’s when you’ll know.👌

Brew next to rolex is a welcome sight

·

Be warned watch addictions is a disease... You never know that soon you will be competing with your wife shoes store.....eh maybe I'm the only one 🤔😓

John Lewis had them not crazy expensive think it was like 60 quid? Stackers is the brand! I looked at some lovely ones from Rapport online but 300 for a roll seemed a lot !

Thank you!

My other half actually has the Hamilton it's a lovely watch ...perhaps I should steal it for few days lol

So you both have great taste in watches :p therefore i am confident when i say that you'll make the right choice for your next purchase !

Hard for me to pitch in here. You seem to have a grasp on what you like and there is plenty available in that style. I could say to vary it up as that Brew tells me you're not averse to that idea and honestly it's my favorite of the 4 haha. Maybe a Reverso? It's a model that tows the line of reserved and unique well.

Love the Reverso !

Honestly can't speak highly enough of this Brew! I've not tried some of their other models but the quality for the price is great, obviously getting a quartz movement in them but to be honest that makes it a great grab and go!

·

nice collection, cant take my eyes from that brew watch 🙏🏻. where to go next?

1.buy more or bigger watchbox

2.spent a time on watch youtube channel or forum like this

3.do some research

4.buy more watches

thats most likely the scenario 😂

Lol I think that‘s what the other half is afraid of! But I think I’ve got some cool areas to look at, on the one side some more “dressy“ Pieces and on the other maybe some different colour options since at the moment my collection looks a bit….

I think a Chronograph might be your next acquisition! I'd look at Speedy (or speedy reduced) as well as Longines or IWC... Looks like you could use a Chrono or field-inspired watch to your collection.  I think either of these could be a great addition to what you already have.

Just drop a lot of hints that a new watch box would be great, you know let her see you searching online looking at them. Then if she doesn’t cotton onto you let her buy it as a gift, that way she will think it was her idea and you get a bigger watch box, which of course you’ll need to fill 👍🤣 20 years of watch collecting I’ve learned a few tricks 🤣

·

Main thing is to buy only the pieces that you like and not to impress someone else's ideas of a nice collection.

Also buy the ones you want to wear, no point in having them sat in the box or the back of the cubard.

Don't be pressured into the latest thing because it's the latest thing. Live with the idea of the watch for a while and see if it wears off or you stay in the place of desire for it.

·

Omega or Grand Seiko!

·

I really like the Autavia line! So clean and COSC certified is a bonus.

·

It's a Stackers box from John Lewis in the UK; https://www.johnlewis.com/stackers-glass-4-watch-box-black/brown/p3837920, they have them on Amazon too.

·

A GS would look nice with them or something with a textured dial
