Tornek-Rayville TR-660 Quickly Sold Out

Was curious if anyone was able to order a TR-660 today? 50 of them went live at 10am and it seems like they were sold out in seconds. Tried to get one last January but couldn’t get it in time either. I’m hoping to get my hands on one during the next release in late October.

Have never been successful trying to get any mkii watch. I gave up hoping and waiting long ago.

It’s so frustrating…. 😡. Guess I’ve got to start hitting refresh at like 9:58am.

I tried in January and failed, I wont try again.  I dont like releases like this, either put the watch up for sale or dont.  I hate the "10 are going up today, 15 in October..." crap.

I agree 100%. It is very aggravating.

I have to admit I was successful today, finally, in getting both the TR-660 and the Paradive. I was ready to hit the trigger the second that each watch was available. Like others in this list I have been trying since they were released without success.

Like others on this list, I viewed this as my last attempt to purchase. If I didn't make it this time - I was done. Glad to say that it worked it out.

Sorry for those of you who were not successful - I know the feeling from all the times in the past that I was in a similar situation.

They look cool and the name has some history but there are better watches in that price range that you can actually buy.

I really want to get the TR when it is released again in the fall. finally, when both arrive please show some pictures!!!

Interesting. what would you choose instead? Say for around $1000 with a military vibe?

I got lucky and picked up the TR-660 this morning. But I still might need a CWC in the future

CWC, Marathon, Hammy Khaki, Bulova milships(if you can handle the weird strap size..)

Great suggestions! I love the look of the Bulova but not the strap size. Was also thinking Sangin Instruments or Scurfa as other options.

To add to the list, there are the Seiko Willard and Arnie, Benrus watches, and Smiths military field watches.

However, I get the love for the Torneks.  I really want one too over the others (right call to history for me, right price, and I love and live vicariously through the Bill Yao watch nerd journey) but I also can't seem to get on the right schedule to snag one of these limited releases.

Good luck!  At least we all have the same albeit small chance to snag one (unlike some other brands).

A sangin is also on my short list, but they are always out of stock as well.

Yes - I had a computer clock up on my screen counting down the seconds and at 2 seconds remaining just kept refreshing the screen. I had previously created an account as per the email instructions and had my credit card details already pre-loaded in my computer's saved information. So as soon as the "Add To Cart" showed up I was able to execute the transaction is mere seconds. Hope that helps.

Definitely will post some wrist shots when the watches arrive.

ok. Thanks for sharing. That’s great! sounds like the pre-load of the credit card info on the computer along with the count down is what I was missing. I’ve got an account created already. Ok thanks and congrats again! enjoy the watches and i look forward to some photos!

Agreed on the Smiths, Benrus, and Willard. Good call. And I guess if one bumps the price up a bit you could add Vertex or Timor or even some homage watches like Vaer’s dirty dozen tribute.

I had one in my cart, and in the time it took to go throughPayPal, it was sold out. Same thing happened in January. So close!

Yeah. I would suggest that and having all of your info on auto fill. That’s how I got my traska.

Benrus is a great option. Either the Type 1 or Type 2 would be great options. Both are above $1000 though. Having handled them at the Windup Watch Fair in Chicago, they are solidly built and wear much smaller than their 42 mm size.

Those are great suggestions. Thanks! how was windup? Came across this vintage 1966 issued Benrus that I would totally buy if I had the cash.

·

Windup was great. I highly recommend going, if there is one in reasonable distance from you. It was so cool to actually be able to handle watches I would have otherwise just had to take a chance on…. Farer, Benrus, AnOrdain, Christopher Ward and Oris were among my favorites. And the Chicago event had a great turnout.
Best of luck next time with the MKII, if you try again. I managed to get the TR-660 in January’s drop and just received mine. It’s very well built and a lot of fun to wear. But I’ve also tried to get a Halios, with no luck this far….
