Cheers man! how is the AR coating doing??

I own tudors and Omegas. The Tudor is a great watch and incredible value in my opinion. Having said that, get an Omega diver on a bracelet and have them throw in a rubber strap. Most AD’s will do it. Of all the watches I own, this one gets a lot of wrist time.

I just cannot get past the Omega’s helium escape valve looking more like crown. If it was flush with case I would like it.

·

Spread the wealth, your friendly neighborhood Omega AD is starving.

Just fine. I have four Omega watches, and am completely satisfied with all.

First, I think the Pelagos 39 is an almost perfect watch

I just don't like the Seamaster. I don't like the bezel, I don't like the open hands, I don't like the bracelet, I don't like the valve. It is just not the watch for me.

·

I have to be different. It seems like we see Seamasters and Black Bays all of the time. I think the Pelagos is a better looking watch yet we don't see very many of them. I would take the Pelagos.

·

I fat fingered the Omega, but I wasn’t going to pick any but only suggest maybe you have enough watches. 😉

Haha, but seriously, I don’t think any of those watches would add to your already cool (awesome, amazing, great…) collection.

·

Sell one of your Black Bays (I'd recommend the Smiley, keep the Harrods BB) and buy both the Seamaster and the Pelagos 39.

Hope it all works out.

·

Get the Peli39. The 39 is thinner (current smp really thick after the original 2541/2531 models) wears lighter (unless u bought a titanium smp). Yes, that no tapering bracelet while good is non tapering...feel bulky after that tudor oyster style bracelet. HE valve no issue to me.

But I think the problem with the current Omega watches is that it is thick for no reason these days (dont blame ot on the coaxial) vs other divers in its price range. Tudor have been slowly coming out w thinner watches and that is what got me to get them over new smps. That said, if you always wanted a SMP, buy the SMP

·

consider the Omega Seamaster 300 (not the Professional). it’s a proper diver with a beautiful bracelet and without that ugly helium escape valve

Image
·

Agree with @BillableHours , an Omega 300 would fit in well. 👍🏻

·

Even with all the Tudors I still like the Pelagos for you. The Seamaster wave dial doesn’t do it for me, the bracelet doesn’t do it for you, and the HV is just not attractive.

Probably the only Seamaster I do like

·

The Seamaster has a 90's vibe and nothing from the 90's is cool. If you do buy a Seamaster you will have to wear cargo shorts and Saucony sneakers.

Go for the Peli 39 we all wear linen shirts and Birkenstocks.

·

SMP300. I have one. Skip the stock bracelet (buy it on rubber for summertime) and get the OEM steel mesh bracelet as an add-on. As much as I love Tudor, the Omega is just a better watch.

That does not bother me at all, but totally understand why some people do

You see... although the Omega is a relatively thick watch it sits just fine on my wrist... out of my las 4-5 watches, the SMP have always been a finalist, and based on the "i´ll get it next year" excuse, I never get it. I do hate the bracelet, but on the rubber strap its a whole different thing. On the other hand, the Peli39 is just crazy cool... it was love at first sight (also the SMP a few years ago)... anyways... still making up my mind!!! thanks for your input man

Makes sense too... I thought selling my Harrods (the smiley was a gift from my wife... and I love it) and get the green SMP and then Peli39... are you interested in my harrods???😜

Lovely watch man! and of course I have considered it... however, it lost the race whit these two...

Difficult question: but a titanium watch would complement your collection!

agree...

·

I agree with you. The Seamaster bracelet is pretty awful looking. Don’t spend your money on ugly watches.

But then about Pelagos 39, awesome watch but with so many Tudor divers already, how many variations on a single theme do you want?

Agree... but I understood that for me, liking watches has nothing to do with being rational!!! hehehe...

Get the Seamaster cuz you have alot of Tudors. And then get an Omega Milanese bracelet in 20mm at the A.D.

That I had not considered!! thanks

Suggest you get the SMP, having already a number of Tudors. Variety is good in a collection IMO. I have a SMP and a LHD, love them both. Titanium is good for its lighter weight and durability. Only gripe is that it sticks to the skin unlike SS. Finally, the SMP has the better engine IMHO. COSC vs METAS certification plus co-axial escapement promises longer service intervals. The looks department is mostly subjective. That's mainly up to you. Let nobody tell you otherwise.

Then again you can always sell your other Tudor(s) and buy both. 😜

Thanks man! makes total sense. I considered selling one of my BB41, the harrods, given that the smiley was a gitf from the wife. Are you interested on the Harrods! 😜??

How big is your wrist?

The seamaster wears pretty large - certainly larger than your Tudors.

When I was looking at Pelagoses(!?) I tried on the 39, the lefty and the regular at the same time. The lefty was cool, but a little over fauxed. The 39 was a fantastic size (particularly the slim case), but the bezel and dial were too glossy for me. (The red text is really cool though).

I also tried on the green Seamaster, but it was too big for my 6.5" wrist, the bracelet has a slightly 90s air about it.. it felt like I was trying on Daddy's watch. It is technically awesome though. If I lived in Miami, I think I could pull it off. But I live in Hackney, and likely someone else would by trying to pull it off for me.

Looking at your collection, you definitely do have quite a few Tudors already. Have you considered perhaps selling one, and maybe pooling the cash to add a Rolex to the collection? Keep it in the 'family'? If you like divers, I hear Rolex do one..

I dont have a big wrist, however, I am a big guy (6.0, 220 pounds), so it is particular, I can wear big watches even with a "small" wrist circumference. The SMP sits great on my wrisr. Now, with the Rolex, I had the 114060 and I sold it last year becaused I got a little bored. I do have a couple Rolex (Panda Daytona, 5513, 1500 and a Millgauss), and the sub I do have on my mind is the starbucks, but I dont believe I´ll get a call anytime soon...

When the PELI39 came out, with the red text I just loved it...

Thanks for the offer man! But I was never really a BB fan (no offense). The LHD and NF are more than enough for me. 😉

I think the only SMP I'd get after wearing the Rolex Sub (14060m)and now the thinner Tudor Pelagos FXD and 39, I actually appreciate their slimness (and lightness for the titanium Tudors). Its not that I dont have thicker and over 41mm width watches - like my certina DS PH500m with its ufo-like bezel, my chronographs etc but after buying slim and light Tudors, my appreciation for such divers have grown. The only SMP I would like is the NTTD SMP I titanium. It is slimmer due to having a non display caseback and is light. Even the new anniversary bond version seems unnecessarily thick after trying the titanium bond and the tudors. Try before you buy. Or buy what your heart says regardless of my opinion or others here.
