A Brief History of the Watch Crunch Mod and Why It's a Perfect Daily Watch

About a year ago Mr. Santana started posting modification pictures of watches he had made for himself on Watch Crunch. He posted some really nice builds and the Watch Crunch community took notice. During this time he came acrossed a watch stand that was modified for Watch Crunch. This inspired him and got his creative wheels turning. He got the idea and thought that one day he was going to make a Watch Crunch watch.

A couple of months later Mr. Santana posts the very first Watch Crunch Mod. He had ordered everything that he needed and built it. The Watch Crunch community got excited. He started receiving lots of messages from community members. They were inquiring about how they could get one. They wanted him to build them one. A different side of #mrsantanamod was born.

Mr. Santana ordered enough parts to build twenty Watch Crunch Mod watches. He was having such an amazing experience with the community that he wanted to follow through with these builds. He wanted to build time pieces that were affordable, that represented this great community, and watch enthusiasm.

The mod builds were a success. They inspired a couple of other community members to have Mr. Santana do a collaboration with them. It is another Watch Crunch Mod and a pure beauty as well.

Mr. Santana hasn't been building these mods for very long. I see him getting bigger in the future. I had seen his mods and was interested in getting one myself. I didn't think that I would ever be able to get one. I had figured that they were all sold out. This passed March the opportunity came for me to get one.

This passed March Mr. Santana posted that he had a some Watch Crunch Mods left. I instantly messaged him hoping that I wasn't too late. He had posted 5 and was down to 3. He sent me a picture of the 3 he had left and there was the one I wanted.

I chose the only one with the dial that had "A HOME FOR WATCH NERDS" on it. He let me know that this was watch number one. The very first Watch Crunch Mod and dial. The only thing different from when he first posted it is the second hand. I asked him if he could put a Milgauss style hand on it? He said it was no problem as long as he had one. That ended being the case and he sent me a picture. The hand was green that matches the rehaut perfectly. I call it the "Shazam Shbamn second hand".

I received it a couple of weeks later. I was ecstatic. It was a great watch and what I wanted. It is a great daily watch to wear. It feels perfect on my wrist. The 39.5mm case, 49mm lug to lug, and 20mm lug width is a perfect size. This size sits comfortably on the wrist. The weight isn't too heavy and not too light. It lets me know that I have a watch on but not to the point of being noticeable. If that makes any sense.

It came with a nato strap and a jubilee bracelet. They both look great with the watch and aide in the comfort as well. The nato strap is an official Watch Crunch nato. I have a black rubber strap with white stitching on it now. I have it on for the #1wc . I'm not allowed to swap straps out during the challenge. The rubber strap is being used as a multi purpose strap.

The dial with the bright white indices and hands make it easy to see the time. It has excellent lume on the hands and indices too. It helps me see the time in the darker areas of my job. The date window is perfectly proportioned to the dial and is easy to see the date without a cyclops magnifier.

What makes this watch a great daily wearer the most is the diverse looks. Based on which strap or bracelet is used, this watch fits right in. Put the nato strap on and it looks perfect for outdoor activities. Put the jubilee bracelet on and it goes with any formal attire. Either one, it is the perfect casual watch. The all black color goes with everything. This is a complete all around GADA watch. A perfect daily watch.

Now I want one 馃槅

I appreciate you taking the time to give a full break down for the community! And even more greatful for you entering in the #1wc! I secretly hope you are the victor to the challenge even though I also support every one who entered the challenge. It is very special for me to watch someone enjoy the very 1st watch I built. Some of the changes I made to it actually came from Max himself when I showed him the watch and the windup fair in 23. It truly feels like a community watch as was the goal from the start and alot me to get a taste of being a mini independent brand and I now have a tremendous amount of respect for all independent brands moving forward.

I appreciate you giving me the information so I could write this. I know that this is a part of the 1wc but it was great learning about how my now favorite watch came to exist. I know that your brand doesn't have much history as of now. You will gain more. It's just a matter of time.

Cheers with some cold brew
