CWC SBS quartz diver

Hi, long time lurker ( in a good, non creepy way) and wanted to post something in relation to my new purchase.

the watch in question is a CWC SBS quartz diver and I am over the moon with it.I have wanted to buy one for a while but have just never taken the plunge until now.

Being ex military I have come across personnel who have been wearing CWC watches as issued items.

The watch truly has surpassed my expectations in every way, from the dimensions to the build quality to the easy read face and great lume. I have to say that the bezel is fantastic with zero back play which is how it should be. The PVD coating is very well applied and looks to be applied thickly So think bodes well for longevity. I also think the coating will allow the watch to age well ( I have a Tag Heuer professional with PVD coating)from the 80,s and the patina  from use looks great. As far as the quartz and second hand alignment, my watch seems to match up with the indices very well indeed with very little deviation around the face, something in the past that has really annoyed me on other watches.

the fixed lugs mean NATOs or single pass straps but I think that’s great and suits the watch. Given the amount of NATOs out there and the various colours it is easy to subtly change the watch look as the fancy takes you.

looked at buying the Elliot and Brown Holton professional instead but I am very happy with my choice. The EB I think would be too big  for me.

anyway, that’s it

take it easy

I had both watches, think they are both really well made and can definitely take a beating,I sold my cwc a while ago and now regret it

Do you by any chance know the weight? Or maybe you can throw it on the kitchen scale 🙏

I have been looking at these for so long now an that would be very useful information for me

Hey, no problem

Watch without any strap is 64 grams

Watch with the NATO included strap is 78 grams

Hope this helps, the watch is great and isn’t too top heavy at all. It sits very well on my wrist and reminds me of my 80,s Tag Heur professional 200 metre PVD with the same case and that stood up very well, including being my main watch through 4 Conflicts around the world. It is still going strong.

I was on the fence for years despite having the money to buy but so glad I went for it..

If buying direct from CWC ask them to pick a watch where the second hand matches the seconds indices as close as possible…They replied that they would and in all honesty my watch hits the seconds marks very very closely in most positions on the face and far better than other quartz watches I have had.

my advice is go for it, I know CWC watches do hold their value so if you didn’t get a long with it I’m guessing you really wouldn’t lose too much on passing it on

If you have anymore questions, feel free to get back in touch

Thanks for the information 🙏 I'm not supposed to swap out any of my watches.... I try to have a locked in 3-watch-colllection. The issue is that my Seiko Marine Master Tuna 300 is very cool, it's also both top heavy and very heavy in general...

And I would enjoy wearing something similar but not so wobbley more.... Thanks for the tip about asking for them to check the seconds hand I thought I would try if I were to get one, but didn't think the chances were big for them actually checking for me.
