As long as they make enough of the watches to be readily available for online buyers.

Swatch realized that the MoonSwatch was driving HUGE increases in demand for the Moonwatch and other Speedmasters.  Thus, their decision to reverse course and not sell the MoonSwatch online.

I do hope they do the same with any / all other collaborations, create lines, build hype, and get people buying the Seamaster and the Fifty Fathoms.  What a great way to bring awareness of such amazing watches to the masses!

the fake moonswatches have sapphire crystals and aluminum cases. That is far better than the original plastic crap.

Good idea in theory but I hope it doesn't come to fruition. I love the FF and hope it stays sleeper until I can afford one easily. I don't want flippers getting into that brand and it affecting secondary market prices (of actual Blancpain watches).

....also the idea of a waterproof bioceramic Swatch FF is like...** insert jackie chan confused meme ** (im dubbing it the Thrifty Fathoms)

There are already inexpensive replicas of the Fifty Fathoms available for incredibly affordable prices.

Here is an Eaglemoss 1950's French Navy Diver's Watch Replica - steel case with size of 41.5mm, and thickness of only 9.2mm, running a quartz movement with bi-directional steel bezel with black aluminum insert on a black nylon strap with 20mm lug width and a mineral crystal. Only 30M of WR - so you're not taking this one into the water (I have one just haven't gotten around to getting a wrist shot yet). The price: $15

Do you think a Swatch version of a Fifty Fathoms is going to be better than this? They will make it out of plastic with plastic crystal and it will cost over $200.

I can't wait for the new James bond film,he's sat there on a plane opposite a lovely lady and she says 'rolex?' he replies 'no swatch' cue cabin door opens and she jumps out. It's been a fantastic marketing tool and certainly has increased the brands footprint, and I've noticed recently a lot more chronos have appeared on the market so it might have had an influence on the whole watch sphere. It still surprises me the prices they're asking on the secondary market(there again nothing should surprise you in that madhouse) but that might be driven by the non Internet sales policy. Once great,but again mmm don't know maybe the seamaster, but 50 fathoms etc not enough recognition outside the die hard world of watches and no amount of hyping will change that(could be wrong though. Cue cabin door shuts,bond sips his dry martini and mutters 'but I'm on the list'

Now I really want a BlancSwatch with the case material made out of 100% seaweed washed up at the Cote d'Azur due to over-fertilization.

I’m here for it. I really did not think I would like the moonswatch as much as I do but the colors are great and would love to see other iconic watches in silly colors. 

I like what the moonswatch represents from a marketing angle.  It’s just meant to be a fun thing that is a gateway to actual Moonwatches.  So, I’m all for more examples of this idea.
