These are two of my father’s watches. As a gift to him, I had these restored - one by Omega, the other by an independent watchmaker in Portugal - and I think both came out rather well, if I may say so…

They are vintage beautiful 😍.

Great call on the restoration. Well done!

Glad it came out good, because it would suck to be disappointed in such a custom job!

The gold one was especially difficult. Among its many issues, the lugs were a bit bent and Omega themselves said they couldn’t/wouldn’t fix it. So I sent it to this watchmaking atelier in Lisbon and the result was beyond impressive. More a recuperation than restoration, if you know what I mean, but definitely worth it. The Genéve was less complex. Here’s how it looked before:

Excellent work I would say, comparing before and after photos!

To my novice eyes, at least. 😎

Funny, my collection also started with me servicing two vintage Omegas from my father.

It felt great to have done that for him! Did you feel something like that too?

Well, my father gave them to me and didn’t want them back! But… he did borrow one of them once for a family members wedding so it did get some love from him post-service 💗
