Cartier scores a walk-off home run

Introducing – The Cartier Pebble-Shaped “Baseball” Watch Is Back

Cartier is often considered the master of shaped watches. Squared, oval, bell-shaped, asymetrical, cushion-shaped, barrel-shaped and many more… It’s an endless story, with the only limit being the capacity to be worn on the wrist. Some of the most emblematic and original designs of Cartier didn’t come from Paris’ HQ but from its London-based branch. […]

Full transparency: I’m not a fan of baseball. But I am a fan of baseball in October, and Cartier watches. Being October, Cartier steps up to the plate again, points in the direction its going to hit and absolutely crushes a walk-off homer. I may never see this watch in the metal but its magnificence is undenliable.

I really like this one as well. I recently picked up a Pasha, which also has the square railroad minutes track in a round watch, but this is a hugely different take on that. Of course, the Pasha was affordable 😀

Very cool watch and story.  I don't understand why they don't offer a steel case version at a more affordable price for the masses.

I've been intrigued by the Pasha for years. Looks good.

Yeah this is a very cool watch but for $40k EUR I would get something else.

Yes this most definitely is a unicorn of the highest order. Cartier isn’t looking to make money (which they will) on this limited release. It most certainly will only be offered to Cartier’s best and/or highest profile clients. This is purely to create more lore amongst us mere mortals.

My appreciation for Cartier is relatively recent, and I hadn't even heard of the Pasha until early this year.  I didn't really have much interest in it until seeing a post from @sfwatchlover a couple of months ago. I was initially intrigued by the cage, but quickly discovered that I really liked the watch itself, whether or not it had the cage. As luck would have it, a friend of mine from our local watch enthusiasts group had an old Pasha that he was willing to part with, so I was able to scratch that itch without having to spend a fortune.

Congratulations again on the acquisition!  I heard very recently that Cartier will start a program soon to offer grille (cage) for Pasha pieces sold in the past without a grille.  There will be a cost of course.  Cartier will publish a list of models that are included in this program and the cost for adding the cage for each model.  My guess is that your watch will be included for "upgrading" with a grille :).  I will let you know if I hear any more information.  Cheers!

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I still love it without the grille, but the grille would be the icing on the cake.
