I've extolled the virtues of my all-black Cartier Santos several times here on WatchCrunch. The Applied Diamond Like Carbon (ADLC) coating changed my perception of the Santos significantly. Where the steel version straddles a line between dress and casual, blacking out the case and dial allows the Santos to cross the line well into the sporty territory.
This one watch has now got me ogling other dark and brooding all-black watches. For example, when the movie Top Gun: Maverick was released in theaters, a big deal was made about Tom Cruise wearing the very same all-black Porsche Design Chronograph 1 that he wore in the original Top Gun from 1986.
For those that read articles about that watch know that the original Porsche Design Chronograph 1 released in 1972 was the very first all-black PVD watch released in the market.

IWC also has some very cool all-black watches including the Pro-Pilot Chrono

And Tag Heuer has released a new "Dark Lord" Monaco (the original having been released in 70s). I love the look of this thing. 😍

Whether PVD or ADLC steel, titanium, or ceramic, what are some of your favorite blacked-out watches?

I mean, the Moser Apple watch is very funny to me.
And its more affordable but equally hilarious cousin the Rado True Square Undigital
But I'd frankly not own either. If we're going with ones that I would own, I'd probably go with the Hermes H08 Graphene
Or the LUC GMT one
I’ve gotta say my G-Shock…which is as black as a cup of coffee in the middle of the desert on a moonless night.

Vantablack from moser wins the black dial competition with a mic drop.
love ❤️ my own blacked out Darth watches: cap cook ceramic and an SNR043
One bummer for any blacked steel or Ti - The 043, despite being insanely super hard DLC , still got scratched the first week I had it.
Good argument for blacked out watches always being full depth (carbon or ceramic)and not just a ‘super hard’ coating
That Black Cartier is a STUNNAH 🔥
I'm partial to the Seiko Tuna MM 300 blacked out. That might because I maybe are awaiting it in the mail 🤭
I’ve gotta say my G-Shock…which is as black as a cup of coffee in the middle of the desert on a moonless night.
Very cool model 😎 Got "flaps" underneath the lugs? Does it make it more comfy?
I only have one all black watch in the collection. The Artel Rotec V1 in forged carbon 😎👍
I’m partial to Omega’s ceramic work on the completely illegible and unpractical but perfectly beautiful
SMP Diver 300m in 43.5mm
And Dark Side of the Moon black on black
That Monaco is off scale, totally takes it to the next level, from stratospheric to galactic (if only funds were available 😪) your Cartier is an absolute gem as well, some would say brave choice but it certainly adds a different asthetic on what is generally seen as a dress watch. I've a few 'black' watches but this is my favourite....
On its arrival day. Great watches the 'blacks' but can limit strap choices.

Definitely. They also stabilize the watch on the wrist.

The LUC GMT looks choice! The Hermes definitely is stealth.
Some dirt-cheap very black watches from Ali:

You can't have a discussion on blacked-out watches without the G-Shock or an Illuminator!

SMP Diver 300m in 43.5mm
And Dark Side of the Moon black on black
They both look sinister!

So hard not to heed the call of the Dark Lord but your blacked-out Longines Legends Diver is 👌.

I don't know what it is about that pop of red in a blacked-out watch but it's an undeniable combination.
The only day date i’d love to own
Very interesting. Is that a boutique exclusive?
AP Royal Oak Midnight Limited Edition #39 of 50:
now that's black...😎
I used to own this Zenith Ceramic Black Defy, but I traded it in. It was a great watch and very precise, but very difficult to read the time. I used the proceeds to help by a Cartier Santos Blue!
The black Cartier is soo sweet !! Love it
Hello, first post here and I just wanted to share my Fortis B42 all black - 647.28.158.1 🙂
It ain’t all black if the hands and markers are not. 🤔
I am not a fan of “blacked out” watches. I find them uninteresting and many are not clearly legible.
RESCO Gen 2 Black Frog
Hey all, new here and found this thread which is perfect because these are one of my favorite styles of watches!
Currently, my favorite I own is a Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Black Magic! Such a beauty, in my opinion, and fits excellent! Have a few other of my black ceramic favorites in my collection in the header on my profile! Cheers!🍻

Nice stealth collection. One black Panerai for each wrist? 😜
Nice watch! #cartier

I think there’s a big difference between black watches, and “blacked out” watches. I agree with you that a “blacked out” watch like an Omega Dark Side of the Moon Black Black is completely illegible, but a Tutor Black Bay Ceramic with its cream colored indices and snowflake hands is perfectly legible. Cheers!

I‘d 💯 have the Seamaster.
Nope, nothing to see here :)

this H moser was a genius idea👌😅
Not a general fan but I do own a couple. Oris Col Moschin-
