What’s next? GS, JLC or a Micro?

OK crunchers - looking for your advice. I’m thinking about a possible next addition to my collection. My local AD has ‘the next watch for me’, the GS Black Birch. My thought is well . . . maybe. I have 3 other GS watches. Here’s my other contenders, all would be new brands to me - JLC Ultra thin - I’m a fan of moonphases; Towson Choptank - I’m a Marylander, so a local brand; RGM 207 - great traditional maker from Pennsylvania, so another local. Thanks Crunchers!

Thanks for the exposure to the Towson Choptank. I'm going to look into that watch!

I want someone on here to tell us about the Towson. It seems to be at the high end of the microbrand space. As a former Marylander, I want it to be a good watch (along with Tsao).

Indeed, but with the ways of the world anymore, soon it will probably be different.

I think the Towson group will be the brand show I’m going to in a couple of weeks. I hope we will have a few WCer’s at a meetup after https://www.watchcrunch.com/Robcollects/posts/maryland-meetup-15437

Anyway, I try to post what I learn there and will likely try to visit the Towson group after if I don’t see them there.

The GS is pretty, but take it from someone who owns a JLC -- you can't go wrong with it.

I picked the JLC Ultra Thin Moonphase. In addition to a beautiful dial, I love the rear view too.

I would have probably voted for the night birch if you hadn’t said you had 3 GS’s… but the JLC is undoubtedly a killer dress watch

First of all, hello fellow Marylander!!  Sorry if we’ve discussed this already.

Okay, now that that’s out of the way my vote is for the JLC MUT. I have 2 GS, and I adore them. My SLGH009 is hands down my favorite piece in my collection. I also have a Reverso, and owning a JLC is just a must for me. Granted I am biased, JLC started my obsession with watches a few decades ago, the reverso in particular. But the fit and finish is exceptional.  They just make special watches IMHO.

RGM hand turned guilloche dial with Breguet numerals and hands is gorgeous.

In a vacuum, I’s pick the GS but since you already have a few, I’d go JLC. I’ve actually never heard of the other 2. Will have to do some research.

I would like to have them all but if I had to go with one, there are other Towson models I would pick, I like the RGM and GS but in the end, I would go with JLC, probably because I am biased as I love my Master Control Hometime, had it since 2005 and continues to be on my wrist more then any of my other watches
