FIRST WATCH OF 2024

It is actually my last purchase of 2023, but it is still the first arrival of 2024.

I wanted to try the Sea-Gull ST3600 movement, we will see how it behaves over the years.

Nice!

I think it's a really neat movement. No date, hand wind is kind of nice sometimes. I should've gone for the pumpkin crown.

I decided to buy this watch after talking to some friends who already have it! My only experience with mechanical watches (not automatic) is from an Elgin pocket watch that belonged to my wife's grandfather and a Timex from the 70s. I did not have a watch of this type with a current movement.

On the other hand, I wanted to own a 44 mm pilot watch, since I did not have one of this size.

One thing to be aware of, these movements can sometimes be shipped out dry, so a little oil can smooth things out & help with longevity.

& you're right, it's not a small watch.

Thanks for the advice! I know that the movement may be dry, I am going to use this watch for two weeks to see its performance. If the movement needs service, I will provide said service so that the mechanism works well.
