Redwood Tactical Solar Diver V3 - 1 Week On the Wrist

I received this watch a week ago. In all honesty it is as close to perfection as I have yet experienced.

Case width 40mm excluding crown

Lug width 20mm

Lug to lug 48mm

Thickness 11.2mm

The coin edge bezel is extremely grippy without being painful. The flat sapphire crystal is perfectly flush and does what it is supposed to. The aluminum bezel insert is nice and flat with a matte finish. The drilled lugs make strap changes a breeze, but this really sings on a nato or my CNS Seals strap.

I haven’t taken this off of my wrist since I got it, aside from changing periodically to my mesh bracelet. The lume is not Seiko but very respectable and easily lasts throughout the night on a minimum charge. For $199, you can’t go wrong.

Are there changes I would make? Duh. I would change to a stainless steel bezel insert, and wishfully turn the case and bezel to titanium. Also I would make the bezel 60 click instead of 120. But it would cost more than $199 at that point. It would be worth it in my opinion.

By the way, I placed my order late on a Thursday and had this in hand on the following Monday. There are other solar divers I would like to get, but I would have to modify them to equal what I have here. Maybe I should just stop here.

Thanks for sharing. I keep coming back to this as a good option for an understated solar diver. May have to pull the trigger. I appreciate your thoughts on it!

It looks great, and thanks for the review. I’ve been eyeing the white dial version. For the slim-wristed among us, do you think it would fare well on a 6 inch wrist?

I am 7.25 but I think it would do ok.
