Vintage Seiko I was Gifted

Got gifted this by a relative while my dad was away, needs some work but am extremely excited to work on it. Watch seems to be from the early-mid 90s off my research on the movement within it.

I also got gifted a Canadian watch from a magazine prize draw that is effectively non-existent in the UK by another relative but I don’t want to take that out of its package until I have the display case for it so no photos sadly just yet.

I have ties from the mid-90’s. It hurts to hear this called vintage.

Cool watch - like @Aurelian I resemble that Seiko since I was well into my career in the early 1990s. I guess we are appropriately vintage - sadly I am definitely no longer NOS vintage. 😉

I'd just recommend not leaving the watch on your laptop as you are likely to find that you are magnetizing the movement.

Seiko 8F32 movement right?  Those did not have a long run and might be a little later - late 1990's to early 2000's

Please report back once you are done working on it.

Well by all definitions it qualifies-sorry!

It’s a quartz movement-not planning on leaving it there anyway, only put it on the laptop for a photo

It’s an 8F of some description, so possibly a late 90s watch which still qualifies as a vintage piece I suppose. It’s cool to have regardless

I shall. Hopefully shouldn’t be a huge project provided it doesn’t need a new perpetual calendar

That went down about as well as a crack in a building foundation
