Anyone know owt?

I've been naughty. I've bought another watch (wait, this is watchcrunch, the only place on the Internet where I wouldn't be considered mental for buying 5 watches in 4 months!). PopitonaNATO originals will remember an old post I made about a watch store in my city. I popped in finally after about 2 months, and after an agonising decision involving 3 pocket watches and roping in @chronotriggered, I walked away with this for £60. Took it to my watch guy and he said "bit temperamental but that's decent that". I'm a complete Vostok virgin (yes I sniggered and no I will not grow up) so I do not have a clue what I'm looking at. Any info as to this models history will be much obliged. Ok, ciao!

I know zero specifics but my husband has a similar komandirskie he got while in Russia about 25 years ago.

If yours is anything like his it'll be a rock solid beast. He's never had to do anything to it, service wise, in the whole time he has owned it, despite dropping it onto a solid floor recently 🤦 It runs amazingly well too! Does yours have anything on the case back?

I'll check I I can figure out how to get this damn bund off (why the hell put shoulderless springbars on a watch with no drilled lugs?!)

Also, congrats on the new watch 🥳👏 Vostoks are a classic. I love the fact they are a proper 'If you know, you know' watch 😎

·

Warning! These watches tend to multiply quickly, welcome to the Vostok rabbit hole!  😄

That date lines up with my (relatively brief) research that put this at about late 80s early 90s

That's the plan. The fella said he was selling the 3 vostok on behalf of a customer. They're an 'if you know you know' watch meaning there's more addicts like me in Nottingham. I WILL FIND THEM 🤣🤣

They are on the market at Ebay by Ukranian sellers too. I'm thinking of ordering one even if it never arrives.

I've got eight Vostoks. Great value for money.

What's the point of the rotating bezel when it doesn't have any markings? Fidget toy for the train ride to Siberia?

In "2414.00/219823", the 2414.00 refers to the movement, 12 hours with date. The 219 refers to the case and 823 the style (bezel, finish, and dial).

You can swap the bezel from any 219 case to another. Using a rotating bezel on all models lowers production costs.

Aah right that makes sense. Thanks mate

You are looking at a Soviet watch with a cult following. Here's mine.

I have two, a scuba dude and a komanderski  both direct from meranom which is a great place to buy them new ( although not while the war continues). The scuba dude was my first automatic watch. It came on a decent rubber strap. The komanderski came on a terrible bracelet. Both now on Natos. I can't recommend them highly enough!
