What do you guys think of TAG Heuer?...

I hear many people say don't waste your money, they are trash this or that. Theres also the "full on TAG Heuer junkie" on the opposite side of the spectrum

Whatever the case, I just bought one and share my thoughts..whats your experience with the brand?

I like the Carrera.

·

A friend has an Aquaracer, and I quite like it.

·

I love mine I have three! C’mon thats just an iconic watch I thought your going to talk about a regular Tag and show it’s complexity and beauty like a formula 1 or something but off course the Monaco oh well…

·

I quite like the new aquaracers i must say. They should release an automatic diving chrono with 40 or 41mm case diameter, because my dive heavy collection is still missing a diving chrono 😉

Love mine

I have had this one since the mid 80's.  TAG gets a lot of heat some of deserved and some not.  Through it all it is still one of the most popular entry points into luxury watches.

My Carrera Twin Time 7 High beat.  Very Nice and well executed.

My 2000 Professional quartz.  VERY ho hum in comparison.

I hope they return to quality over mass marketing.

Perspective means a lot.  Truth be told I always had a thing for watches, but didn't know what was considered a luxury brand or a good watch for that matter.  My old friend married into a very wealth family and I was there while they were exchanging gifts on Christmas Eve many moons ago and his Mother-in-Law bought him a Tag Heuer watch and a few of my other friends were discussing later on how much that watch cost and is one of the best watches money could buy.  I'll never forget that and since then I look at the Tag Heuer watches as the ultimate in luxury.  For people who are into this brand, I love the site onthedash.com for all things Tag.  Jeff Stein is pretty much an expert on the brand.

I think this guy's pretty attractive:

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Stainless Automatic Watch... for £3,803 for sale from a Trusted Seller on Chrono24

I received a white dial, quartz aquaracer as a gift around 2006. Daily wear for ~15 years until the pandemic and I got interested in watches again. Took a beating and kept ticking as long as I swapped the battery every couple years. I like to think of TAG Heuer as a gateway drug into the world of luxury watches.

Once I got over the sting of being called a "watch nerd" multiple times, I enjoyed the video.

·

The monaco is amazing! and I’m eyeing an aquaracer for myself

I had this, it lost a few seconds a week and if I’m honest the bracelet had sharp edges, it cost £950 new direct from a Tag retail outlet.

I don’t think it was worth the money however Tag do make some nice stuff, I don’t think the quality is consistent across all models.

I'm very happy with my Aquaracer. It was an aspirational brand when I was a kid so it holds sentimental value for me.

My TAG:

It's never given me any major problems (though I think it may be due for a service, or at least, a regulation).  As I've noted several times on this site, TAG seems to generate an inordinate amount of hate for some reason.  I don't really think that they're all that much different from Longines in terms of quality and finish.

Love ‘em

I passed on one of these a few years back as I’d just bought a non-chrono retro Carrera, and boy do I regret that. Not half as much as the Silverstone reissue, but the cal.18 Telemeter is a beautiful watch.

Just got to watch your vid! Really like that watch. My thought is if you like a watch some brand is selling, get it. Buy and wear what you like.

·

Don’t own one yet but the Monaco is on the “someday“ list. Nice video and awesome watch!

Beautiful watch, in a world of circles...

I love my Tag.

Peter that intro tune always get me going.  Content and articulated reviews eqally inspiring.   Dangerously persuasive.

·

I like Tags but for some reason ( I can’t explain) would only buy them in quartz.

·

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I love the Carrera, Aquaracer, and Monaco series. I’m saving to buy my first Tag - Carrera Las Vegas Limited edition 77pieces.

·

You had me at Monaco 😍

·

Peter - thanks for the review. I just bought my first Tag (also a Monaco, but with the Calibre 11 matte blue dial - trying to stay as close to the 1969 style as possible). I wholeheartedly agree that you should buy what you like and what you'll wear. I'm looking forward to getting it on my wrist...

I love Tag Heuers!!!
