Ok question of the night!

If you guys were stranded on a island. What watch would you want ? Now think about it for a second. You need to survive so maybe you would want something that has multiple functions. Let's see how creative everyone is.

😂😂 nice

I am torn between my Pro Trek PRW2500 as an obvious choice for its wide variety of functions, including a compass and a tide graph, and my Islander #ISL-69, which has a domed sapphire crystal that could be used to start a fire with sunlight and tinder like a magnifying glass. 😂

If I'm going to be flippant.  Breitling emergency

So I can get home faster!

And probably some sort of tough solar gshock otherwise with a fishing timer.

😂😂 nice

I mean stranded means that I don't need to know when it's 3pm or 9am, right?

·

I'm gonna need this, to time how long to poach all the fish I catch in the wildness, like Les Stroud.

Casio GBD-H1000 GPS. GShock functionality? Check. Full charge from solar if needed? Check. GPS? yep. My first choice would be the Garmin Fenix Pro Solar, but the solar capabilities are limited, so trusty GShock it is.

As a fisherman's son, I try to avoid using "poach", and "fish" in the same sentance...🤣

Not me, for me simplicity is the master key to success.  I would chose a Timex Marlin with snoopy on the bottom.

I am hanging my head in shame as I came back to this thread and realized I did not immediately recommend this.

In any survival situation, I feel like I have literally the lowest chance of getting out alive.  I win the race to bleached bones 100% of the time.

My superpower is immediate answers to avoiding such survival situations.

Yeah, it wouldn’t matter which watch I had, it would only be a matter of hours before I succumb to nature in some horrific way.

·

This one here has been my true adventure watch for over three decades:

Image

It's been battered to all extents. In the water, in caves, in snow, giving time while lost in a mountain range, marking the pace of a drop falling from a dried fountain as our only hope to get some water...

But now I don't use it anymore as is is in kind of a delicate condition after so many miles.

Today I'd gladly have a simple and reliable three hand watch with me. That is basically all I might need.

The ecozilla

its a dive watch, it’s eco drive so won’t need batteries , I could use it as a hammer, a weapon or even stand on it to reach coconuts.

·

I would also take @HotWatchChick69 's Grand Seiko.  I would immediately bury it in the sand right at the water line on a non-descript stretch of beach so that I could not find it again. I would then enjoy a very few moments of solitude before the hunger squeezed out all of my will to live.

·

I don't know what model I would want specifically, but I know I don't want Ecodrive. have 2 and they both died within 2 years of ownership. So I'd probably go simple all the way. Like that digital Casio posted above. I had one similar to that when I was a kid. it lasted quite a few years of kid usage and then gave up the ghost. I know if I had one like that now, it would last longer than I.

Eco-Drive Fo-Sho

·

Citizen Chronomaster titanium on a bracelet with Eco-Drive. Robust build. 100m water resistance. Solar. Perpetual calendar. +-5 seconds a year accuracy. You could keep track of date and time accurately for years.

·

Depend on the size of the island Garmin Solar.

·

I would get the Breitling Emergency. Same as @Edge168n . I wanna go home.
