Microbrand - Wise time piece (Miyota)

Hello guys,

Im an amateur watch collector. Very new to the journey.. i currently own a few casios, a couple of tissots (coutourier and pr100) and just got hands on my seiko 5 sports.

However, i would like to take this opportunity to discuss about a new micro brand from thailand called WISE. I saw it for the first time on my friends wrist last month and i was baffled by its quality. So before pulling on trigger on this one, it would be amazing if you guys or even Ben (@benswatchclub ) could offer an indepth review on this watch.

I moved to Thailand from texas 6 years ago. If you guys need help in sourcing this watch or contact their head office i coul  offer some assistance.

I have never owned one, but it seems like a good watch to try on.

Have you tried and fit them on your wrist? They seem to have few stores in shopping mall.

I hope you enjoy them 😉😉

I tried them on, it looks fantastic in my opinion. However, im not a watch expert. What may seem amazing to me, maynot be the same case for watch experts out here. Nor do i have the tools to test the watches accuracy. But on closer inspection, my amateur self would comfortably place this watch brand in the league of seiko prospex series...i kinda got a gut feeling that this brand has what it takes to play with the big microbrands...but well who knows..waiting on this community for. A verdict.

There are a few reviews of their watches out there on YouTube, and most seem to praise the watch quite a bit.

The Miyota 9000 series movements have a pretty solid reputation for durability, and if you can get past the rotor noise (which I never notice myself) they are great. The biggest advantages the Miyota movements have over the Seiko ones is a smoother sweep due to higher beat-rate, and thinness.

I have heard nothing but great things about Wise. I have never seen one so take that for what it's worth. They use 904L steel which is unusual and is seen as high end more than 316L is. From what I know I think Wise is going to be around long term, too.

I saw a few of these reviews..but some of them are relatively new...i wasnt quite sure if their reviews is at par with seasoned vets in the community. I lived here in thailand since last 6 years i didnt notice this brand until last month, first impressions were amazing..maybe i could just wait around for a bit before i pull the trigger on buying one.

Thanks for the valuable input...i handled this timepiece first hand last month..it looked awesome to my untrained eyes..just had my reservations cz they werent as popular as the other microbrands

Hey, I like the look of the Adamascus very much, + the 904L is so shiiiiny ! Someone here on WC made a written review of it, he seems to having be bothered by the difficulty to read the time because of the dial + hands color.

Peter Kotsa has a comparison review to a more expensive Seiko which is helpful for context. The Wise Damascus more than holds its own:

WISE makes fantastic watches for the price. I have several in the collection and all are incredibly well made. They are a true class operation.

Here are the ones I own...

I believe WISE just started pushing their market into quality area few years ago.

They used to make a lot of quartz watches, but now they have shifted they brand into automatic movement packed with quality. The watch itself uses Miyota or NH (citizen or seiko) movements so it will be easy for you or local watchmakers to maintenance/repair/replace.

No complaints here. Bought this one year ago after @PeterKotsa reviewed it. Did some research ofcourse, but this one didn't disappoint. It's my every day carry as I judged it would be dressy enough to also wear to the office. The 904l polished steel and the thin profile dresses it up a bit unlike bulkier divers. Long story short, I'm a happy customer.

The should make the watch with blue dial and blue bezel in SS.
