My Grand Diver Collection...

May I present my collection of Grand Divers. I bought these over the last month or so.

Image

Each one I inspected upon arrival and found no issues.

  • The finishes are consistent and excellent throughout.

  • Those with the 18k gold PVD look absolutely gorgeous.

  • The 120-click bezels line up perfectly.

  • The hour markers are perfectly placed.

  • They all have Seiko NH35A movements.

  • All have see-through case backs.

  • The links are solid and the clasps are milled.

  • The lume? Sub par, but for me, it's inconsequential.

These are nice, solid watches. Give them an AR sapphire crystal and I'd have no complaints at all. None.

I know, Invicta haters, I could have taken the money used for these 12 watches and purchased a $1200 watch made by <insert pet brand here>. Yep, could have done that. In fact, I could have bought a $5000 watch and didn't. Instead, I enjoyed the quality of these watches so much, after receiving and examining the first one and being shocked by what a mere $100 (±20) could buy, that I bought many different styles and colors to suit my sartorial needs, no pun intended, and filled this box. And that is the choice I made with my money.

So please enjoy these 12 Invicta Grand Divers from part of my modest collection.

Cheers!

-Eric

Love your collection! All the colorways are gorgeous displayed together. I'm a diver fan. I have a few lol.

Enjoy those watches!

Genuinely a very cool collection! What I like most about it is that if there is a friend, colleague or family member who notices one on your wrist and thinks its cool, you just give it to him! Nothing makes either party more joyous than an impromptu gift. The lower “value” means you you can be magnanimous instead of greedy or stingy.

My buddy knows nothing about watches but rocks a black Invicta ProDiver everyday. He doesn’t even have the right date set on it. But man, does it look good. If they’d stop the 90%-off or buy-two-get-six-free gimmicks, I’d only ever wear Invictas. Even the stupidly garish 52mm, 18oz monstrosities are at least Interesting and Intricate.

Congrats on a great collection.

A very generous person you are! I'm sure your friends appreciate you. 👍

Thank you for the compliment! 🍻

Amen, brother, and thank you! 🍻

That's a wonderful collection. You're never going to get bored, and a colour for every outfit I'd imagine. 😁

And you, Invicta-snob, are looking down on the"Military Royale". 😂

Calling me out like that won't get you an invitation for Christmas turkey. 😂

Awesome, man!

What's amazing to me is handling vintage watches. I mean, those vintage Rolex and Omega divers are utter crap! They feel like they're horribly constructed! And they are... that is, back in the dark ages of the 60's and 70's, they sucked at manufacturing. Like, cars would explode if they bumped a plastic cone at any speed above 5mph, toaster ovens would electrocute you if you put anything in them other than Wonder Bread, diapers would strangle your child in the crib...

$100 watches today are like 80x better made!

·

Outstanding! I do the same thing with my collection...I buy what I enjoy, I dont care what someone else would do. It is your money, enjoy collecting the way you want! Nice collection.

·

You have an amazing collection! I will admit, some of the color schemes are not my taste, but you have inspired me to pull the trigger on an Invicta Grand Diver, because of the excellent review you posted on them. I am excited to get such a high quality watch for such a low price! I will share pics on here when I receive it. 😎

·

Your collection is awesome and fun to just marvel at the color spectrum. Additionally it was obtained at a reasonable cost so even better.

I received my Pro Diver as a gift this past Christmas from my parents. It’s great and fit their budget as seniors and they don’t need to go buying me high dollar watches but they know that I love watches.

I went out and bought my son a Pro Diver 1953 Automatic Coke and he’s enjoying it though he normally wears a Tag, Orient or Citizen.

·

Probably could have gotten away with a really cool 6 watch collection 😂, but love the enthusiasm!

That bottom left white dial and 2 top eights ones (yellow and green) are my favorites. Thanks for sharing

I'm always looking for a bargain when it comes to watches, I guess that's why I hit on these Grand Divers so much. I work 100% remotely so I never wear a suit; these divers are a perfect day-to-day option. Thanks for the kind words! 🍻

Perhaps we'll have a peek at your collection, or part of it, one of these days?

You are probably right about the 6 watch thing. But the box holds 12, what was I supposed to do? That's what I told my wife, at least. She does understand my watch obsession. She still talks smack about how I "had to" buy a watch on our last cruise. What was I supposed to do, my Mondaine had stopped! I wasn't about to wear my Casio A158 to dinner! 😉

You have a keen eye. The bottom left diver has the mother-of-pearl dial and 18k gold PVD. I don't mind the flashiness at all:

I'm with you 100%. Invicta are ridiculous value. These 4 cost less than $300 and they are all excellent. NH35 in 3 Pro Divers and quartz in the Speedway. Better value than Aliexpress, imo. Other than subpar lume I have no complaints. Ben did a hardness test and found Flame Fusion to be much harder than straight mineral glass, too. Solid, well-finished watches.

And another 1953, those are getting popular! Very clean and simple design, what's not to like?

You're right about the Flame Fusion crystal, it is better than plain mineral, tests have proven this.

I'm also glad to see that others recognize the value of certain Invicta models, such as their divers. I've had my eye on one of the Speedways in the past, how do you like yours?

I can feel your enjoyment! Nice collection!

Thanks! These things are crazy, I don't know how they can produce something like this at the price. I'm chuffed, to say the least!

Yeah what’s the saying… no matter how much room you have your stuff will always fill it up?

Same goes for watch boxes, so if you had the 12 it’s not like you could get just 6, 9 or 11!

Glad to hear you're on board! Which model did you have in mind?

And yes, I'm not afraid of some color or bling.

I appreciate your kindness! 🍻

I feel similarly about Casio Duros. It's fun having affordable watches that look this good! Enjoy your collection.

I was on Amazon last night and searched Casios just to see what was out there and I was amazed at the number of nice looking watches at bargain prices. I think I need to pick one up for a review!

·

I have a "Lefty" that I bought on our last cruise (my other watch had stopped):

I love it.

I think they came out with a lefty diver line recently that may interest you...
