Gluing That Loose Keeper

Am I the only one that hates wandering watch band keepers so much that they take measures to fix them in the desired place? I used to try stitching, but that doesn't really work. Best I've found so far is a dab of flexible adhesive.

I use Loctite Vinyl, Fabric & Plastic Flexible Adhesive, but presumably anything that doesn't get stiff would work. Seems to work well for leather, fabric, urethane (aka fake leather). I'm not so sure about rubber or silicone, but those seem to grip properly and stay in place.

This is pretty idiotproof. Mark the keeper position. I like to use masking tape to prevent excess glue. Just put a dab on the inside of the band, slide the keeper in place, and tape in place (or used a binder clip as a clamp) till cured. Voila!

If someone else has a better idea, tell me how stupid I am.

Not at all; you are very smart. Thank you for saying it. IMO, the sliding 'keeper' is one of the worst designs of anything I've ever seen. I use Shoe-Goo to glue mine in place. It dries flexible and you can peel it off anytime with no residue.

Fabric glue is available in hot melt glue form. but its white so use sparingly

Did this on the tropic for my Willard.  The further keeper kept wandering and driving me mad.
