New Watch Day! Vario 1918
I had to get the while dial with orange lume, since that color combination is the closest to how trench watches actually looked in WWI.
I chose the 37mm, and then had second thoughts as soon as it was too late. I love the size, though, so I’m glad I didn’t go for the 40mm.
I DIG IT.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. 😂 I’ve had this in the cart sitting at the checkout page probably half a dozen times. Glad I finally pulled the trigger.
And yep, for my money, this is the best size/color/strap combination.
I love my gray dial. The ceramic dials are mesmerizing. And I agree,37mm is perfect for this style. I also got a couple extra straps to go with it. Never thought I'd like a bund but it's become my gavorite. Enjoy!

Wire lugs + NATO strap = timeless classic. I have a similar looking watch and it pops so well on a green or tan NATO. There’s some good vegan leather options out there too. Some made from appleskin, others cork. I’ll bet longevity is the downside to those straps though.
The 37mm is definitely the way to go for most wrist sizes. Both the Bund strap as well as the Zulu add considerably to the perceived lug-to-lug. Cheers from a fellow trench-dweller!
