I use to "Pause" movies to identify the watch the actor is wearing!

I have to confess! Is really hard for me to watch a movie without pressing the pause button to see what watch the actor is wearing hahahaha... And I do it several times in the same movie Lol

Sometimes the actor has to interpret a normal guy that works in a supermarket and his wearing his own in real life Patek!! hahaha

Please tell me I'm not the only one doing this

I do this in old TV shows too since usually it's the actors real watch at the time. I noticed Dean Cain's Ebel in a few episodes of Lois and Clark and it was my introduction to the brand.

·

most of us do that as well 😂😂

·

I do it, but I can still never tell what watch it is, even in HD.

·

Last night my wife asked me to watch with her a romantic movie "The Noel Diary"... Im pretty sure the actor wears a Seiko Helmet (I own one) but my wife didnt want to pause the movie for a third time to check it 😂... I will have to see it alone

Edit: is not a Seiko Helmet .. crown doesn't match

Nah, I do it a lot as well.

Recently I watched Hacksaw Ridge (Mel Gibson, Andrew Garfield). In that movie, some of soldiers seemed to wear period-accurate watches, except for the Sergeant who was wearing a watch with "QUARTZ" on the dial.

The Battle of Okinawa was in the 1940's. The first quartz watch was produced in 1969? Kinda broke my immersion, great movie nonetheless.

I think movie directors don't think someone is going to check if the watch matches the film historical period 😂

Tarantino is an exception.. you can see Brad Pitt wearing a Citizen Bullhead in Once upon a time in Hollywood

·

Yes, girlfriends love it lol

Ed O’Neil’s watches on Modern Family are fantastic!

·

perhaps we can find another picture from movie... what movie is?

·

Guilty! 😁

But I do find it very hard to catch them so they're not blurry.

I tend to watch a lot of cooking programs here in the UK:  James Martin seems to have every Rolex known to man, and Tom Kerridge loves a Panerai or two.

Nice!! But rules are you have to discover by yourself :)

·

I think 95% of this platform does, so you’re in good company. I wonder what’s wrong with the other 5% that do not?

·

Of course.

Rolex GMT Master on Robert Culp in a Columbo episode…

You are definitely not alone hahahaha. Besides movies and shows, I try to figure out what watches sports personalities wear off the court/field as well.

·

Your not the only one, I do it too.

·

I'm always checking the watches. Not only in movies, but also everyday on people's wrists to see if I can identify the watch.

·

I've also tried to move on that screws but probably not clever as you are. It seems like they've made an advertisement agreement with that brand (since it is also a Turkish brand which I learned after you found it too:)) because previously this guy was using a Rado and another character had an AP Royal Oak and another one Nomos Ludwig etc. Now they've all changed their watches :P Anyways, thank you so much again sir.

😆 same! I couldn't get a clear pause.  After 3 or 4 times, the remote was taken from me.  I initially thought it was a Speedmaster.
