Design: The Weekender has a clean and straightforward design. Its round case, typically 38mm in diameter, offers a comfortable fit for most wrists. The white dial features clear numbers and markers, making it easy to tell the time at a glance.

Durability: This watch is built to last. The metal case and mineral crystal protect it from minor bumps and scratches. While not meant for deep water activities, it can handle splashes and brief immersion in water.

I believe this is the watch that introduced the NATO strap to the hoi polloi. Oddly there are a few different sizes. I think I had the 38mm and found it a bit big with the narrow bezel. And the rehaut looked very plasticky.

Indiglo is the bomb though. I wore one today and couldn't resist turning off the bathroom lights to fire it up.

Whatever Swiss quartz movement (Ronda 515H?) they put in the Q GMT is completely quiet. I was shocked. I was expecting to here it in the living room from the bedroom.

The Weekender is the iconic preppy watch.

What a timely review, I'm sure many of us will be donning our Weekenders for the weekend.

I think I must be one of the few who doesn't find the infamous tick overly loud. Sure, if I hold it up to my ear I can hear that its echo chamber like ticking is louder than my other wrist babies, but right now it's on my nightstand about 18" away and I just don't hear it.

Doctor, I think I'm going deaf...

Another point, is the size of that dial.. when I first got the watch, I was compelled to measure it as I felt sure, I had been sent a 40mm version by mistake. The dial looks so big.

And lastly.. honest. I'm with #poormansrolex the indiglo feature is to kill for. I just can't help turning off the light to show it to people (although, I don't usually take them into the bathroom 🤣

That's an interesting fact . I didn't know that about the Weekender and the Nato

Oh, one last thing..

Mr Santana, your case and Arabic numerals seem quite unusual.. is that a special edition?

Not quite sure. When I was ready to pick up a timex I jumped on Amazon and just scrolled until I found the one I wanted. There wasn’t any info on special addition that I can remember.

Love my Weekender. 38mm here which at first I thought might be a bit small but it really is not. I tried 40mm and 43mm which looks crazy big on the wrist! Not a true NATO strap though, but NATO style. Black on white is best for showing off the superb backlight in dark environments. Clean crisp and classic.

I tried on the 43mm and it looked ridiculous as they wear bigger than they are anyway!

True nato or not, they do seem as if they could be strap monsters. I really must get out there and buy some more.

38mm is plenty, I was worried it might feel too small but it is absolutely fine. I did try 43mm but that's just goofy looking!

I'm desperate for strap retailers... looking for quality at a reasonable price. Recently learned about parachute straps!

That's my speculation, but AFAIK every single Weekender came stock on a NATO.This was a commonly available and inexpensive watch that had to sell very well. And it was introduced around 20 years ago, I think.

I had no idea there was now a 43mm. Totally agree that the 38mm, with the narrow bezel and slab sides, seems too close to a 40mm.
