Non metal cased watches

Looking for suggestions for durable watches made from ceramic/resin/carbonfibre. Thee heat or the past few weeks has made wearing metal watches uncomfortable for me. As such, I have started looking for light but durable watches to wear when the heat gets too much. I tried the Casioak but the semi-integrated bracelet doesn't work for me. I found this little Timex and it has many quality's I am looko g for but feels a bit fragile.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Marathon makes quality quartz watches with plastic cases. The Navigator and GPQ are pretty much ideal for wearing in warm weather because of the light weight, and single pass straps they come with.

Bertucci makes a line of resin case watches.

I had a Marathon that was pretty cool.  I also just got an email from Worn and Wound that they have a Bertucci with a full lume plastic case that looks bananas.

Doesn't a NATO or any pass-under strap basically keep the case off the skin? I'm perplexed about what Timex is deemed fragile as they, you know, take a licking and keep on ticking.

If we're including case backs, I'd say try a bioceramic Swatch. Or a bund strap, if you're into that sort of thing.

Yes. The NATO and pass through straps do keep the watch off the wrist. However, a resin backed watch would help reduce conductivity.

I second a nato/zulu/elastic/perlon strap. They are perfect for summer/heat. You can get them wet, they are breatheble so no sweat issues and you can easily wash them with your clothes.

The gshock ga2000, ga2200 have regular lugs (no integrated strap) and they also have a resin back.

Many resin/plastic watches have stainless steel case backs.

If you want something light there are some titanium watches like the lorus field titanium watch or the alba titanium field watch that are light and budget friendly.

Some resin watches: bertuci, citizen Q&Q Smile solar (monoblock case with resin back), alba APBS139, deep blue day-night PC. Some of these might have a metal caseback.

There are also plenty of digital Casios to choose from.

I live in a tropical, humid country everyday, and from testing all sorts of bracelets and straps, a perlon strap is the coolest on wrist, and will solve your heat issues without needing to buy another watch. 😉😎

Rado ceramics are comfortable in the heat. I have two ceramics with titanium in them and they wear cooler than steel.

The Dual Timer is particularly good in the hot weather.

Looks awesome!! is it lightweight ? I imagine it being light and comfortable.

For a plastic (resin) back, Swatch has some that are full plastic or just the battery door. Timex has the 36mm MK1 or Camper that has a full plastic back. All my other plastic cases have a screwed down metal plate. I have samples from Armitron (3 hander analog), Bertucci, Timex and a Casio.

Yes, very light, like titanium.

Man, I don't even know if non-metal will help.  It hot as balls out.  Maybe a leather nato strap?

·

Formex Carbon?

Thanks for all the suggestions. Do you know the model of the Citizen monoblock you are referring to?

How about bioceramic moonswatch?

I like a G-Shock, but I think I would choose Titanium if I where to go for a lighter watch.

Squale made a cool carbonfiber watch but from reviews it seemed just as heavy or heavier than the steel version 🤔

Formex essence leggera has a carbon fiber case.

Q$Q Smile Solar is a subbrand of citizen. They are similar to swatch watches (lots of colors) but are solar and have 100m or 200m WR and all have monoblock cases.

They are affordable and made out of resin. There are a few field like models and a diver style 200m model in a few colors

Swatch moonswatch

It's ceramic but it's hard to come by for a good price unless you live by a store that has it. It comes with a velcro strap I would replace it with leather or a nato. It's based on the Omega Speedmaster

I have a few titanium watches and love them.  Put then on NATO and it makes a very comfortable summer watch.

Citizen makes a lot of Ti watches, many under $300.
