Longines Conquest 39 vs. 41 - Is it a significantly different wearing experience?

I am looking for some insights on what, if any, is the difference in the wearing experience between the 39 and 41 Longines Conquest. I had a 41mm for about a year and while I really liked the watch I found it wore quite big that I partially attribute to the minute markers being on the chapter ring. I can't find anyone local to try and compare (in fact the local ADs only have 43's!).

Any insights of current owners appreciated.

I've never tried the 39, but I have the 41 and I think it wears a little large, at least on me. I have big wrists so that's perfect, but if you have a medium to smaller wrist then definitely the 39 would be better.

I cannot accurately comment on the Conquest, but I own both a 39 and 41 in the Hydroconquest. Personally they wear practically the same. Strangely, I prefer the 39 over the 41 but that probably has a lot more to do with the ceramic bezel verses the steel bezel than it does the overall size.

The ceramic being the 39 and the steel is the 41.

I have the Conquest 39 in blue color. I have tried the 41 as well. I do agree that the conquest wear bigger on the wrist partly because of the crown guards. I have a 6.75" wrist so my preference could be different from yours. Bracelet don't taper much either so it leans toward being a a little heavy at times but I do love my conquest 39 mm! I like the 41 because it has more strap options official and aftermarket, for the 39 not as much. If you already have the 41 I'd suggest wearing it on a leather or fitted rubber strap. The rubber Strap for the Longines Hydroconquest should fit yours. Wearing experience for me, I do prefer the 39.

Here are some pictures of mine.

thanks for the insights. I am hoping to try on a 39 before I buy but your experience is helpful.

It is a watch that has quite some dial surface so that tends to wear a bit bigger quickly. Plus: we currently are in a phase that it seems it is "not done" to like a bigger watch and people are influenced easily these days

. It depends highly on your wrist size as well of course. I have the 43 mm on leather and for me it works nicely. Just go to the jeweler and try them on. It is a very nice versatile watch. Good luck.

I’m really enjoying the 39mm on my 7” wrist and I agree it wears a little bigger because of the crown guards, maybe closer to a 40mm. I feel like the 41mm would look to big on my wrist, so I would go 39mm if were you.

Overall quality is amazing and the simplicity and elegance of the watch is top tier. I just put it on a nato strap from UTE as I head out on vacation and I’m digging the look. I’ll more than likely get a leather strap in the winter and I’m curious to see what it would look like on an all brushed bracelet.

Not an owner yet, but my 39mm is on the way! Here's my reasoning behind my size choice: I have a 7.25" wrist, so my sweet spot is from about 38mm to 42mm (though I have as small as 36mm and as large as 45mm), so I probably could pull off a 41mm, but I know from experience with my 40mm Longines Spirit that longer lug-to-lug distance makes for a larger wearing experience and the lugs on the 41mm Conquest are proportionally longer than the lugs on the 39mm. The Spirit can pull off the bit bigger wear since its a aviation-style watch, whereas the Conquest is more of a GADA tool-type watch and benefits from a bit more compactness.

Just my opinion, wrist topography is as varied as wrist shape, so it's tough to make determinations on wearability without firsthand experience. Looking forward to getting it on wrist!
