Timex answer to the MoonSwatch
In my quest to prove you can get a better watch for $250, I stumbled on a couple of Timex releases and they are impressive! Not perfect and I tell you why in the vid. Is Timex the most improved brand this year?

Timex is knocking it out of the park these days. I've gotten a couple of their more affordable watches recently, a Weekender Chrono and an Expedition military style, and I love them both. They are what I wear casually and on the weekends when I'm not working. They are simply terrific!

Timex has REALLY upped the game lately.
I am waiting on delivery of an Expedition Scout & a Timex Mens Black Strap Watch Tw4b25500jt (resin case, rubber strap, dive looking watch). Both field watch-esque & quartz.
I totally agree with your take on the Worn and Wound Timex. I just picked up one myself. I love the watch… and I find the strap uncomfortable. Would love to hear what new strap you decide to pair with it.
Timex for me is like… the American Accurist. Both seem to be upping their game, knowing that there are people out there with a degree of nostalgia for the brand, waiting to be tempted away from the microbrands with homage styling — and they both have the back catalogue to draw from, if they can just get the specs and the sense of value back up.

I bought the $30 Timex weekender T2N649 for my son after getting him a few cheaper Casios... that Timex is cool and I don't care what anyone says, it is better than those more hyped Casios... I will die on that hill lol

Because it's a mass-produced object, or because Timex has advertised to normal people rather than advertising to people who wish they were richer and try to buy their way into that status?

I don’t understand why we are praising them for… this. It’s not a compelling great product nor it is particularly inspired either for what they are asking.

lol. Nothing to add here, glad the watch world is giving them the love they deserve. @max, the Timex Pan Am Waterbury and the two new Waterbury Chrono's have a nice click to them and the Pan Am edition also has the meca-quartz movement for that nice snap back to number 12, but I do kind of like the smooth second hand transition also. 100% agree if you compare this at the close price to the Moon Swatch, it's like getting a real watch instead of a plastic toy. IMHO of course. Just like you said I got into Timex because of nostalgia and stayed because of the great things they have been doing. Not all watch collections have to be high end and you can still get that same satisfaction!!
But IS the moonswatch really a speedmaster? It's just a quartz Swatch that is using the name because they own Omega. And the thought is, you can get something better than a want-to-be speedmaster for same or less money.
No, it isn‘t really a Speedmaster, more of an officially licensed homage. I don’t deny that there are “better” watches for the price, but I don’t think that’s what this watch was about. Call it style over substance. And it’s got a style you can’t get from anything else at this price. And it seems like a lot of people agree with me here. I don’t think people buy this because they think they’re getting a $300 Omega, they but it because they’re getting something they think is really cool for $300.

I think the new Waterbury chrono is a good contender. Nicer than the Q chrono IMHO.
My only gripe with Timex is I feel they could make their watches a bit more rugged for the price. There are $200 watches that are better built.
I did recently buy an Expedition Scout and put it on a Horween leather strap. Its the perfect dad watch haha.

The scammer stated I won a contest and could choose between an Omega Speedmaster or Grand Seiko GMT. All he/ her "needed" was my name,address,phone,etc for shipping information.

this One is tuff. Looks good but Paying over $200 For plexiglass. Hmm
Yeah, I scratched the Timex itch with M279 and a California Dial Marlin. Honestly u can't complain at these prices. BTW the Sprite dial Q Timex came out yrs before the Rolex copy LoL. I would suggest a few Pagani, but some may get upset. I have a few and surprised at quality.
