It's coming...
All joking aside, when it comes to X-risk, I would put artificial general intelligence up there with nuclear war, pandemic, and asteroid strike / super volcano - in other words, one of the greatest risks to all life on earth. Yet, the only people who seem to worry about AI-alignment are weirdo autistic Silicon Valley types, like me, and there really isn't any real progress being made in AI-alignment. Witness ChatGPT being "jailbroken" within hours of release, providing users with instructions for molotov cocktail making, etc., when its creators indicated they'd spent ungodly amounts of time training it to be "aligned."
So, at this point, I'm resigned to the idea that all life on earth will be wiped out.
In the meantime, to take my mind off of extinction, I got my SLGA015, and boy does that dial and smooth sweeping seconds hand look nice!

Okay the poem is where I became convinced that the Matrix is now just a few years away from becoming reality. It instantly cranked out a coherent poem about a relatively obscure topic and it wasn’t half bad! At once fascinating and horrifying!
