This vintage hand winding watch is one I recently brought back to life from being a non-runner. I don‘t know anything about the company called “Fischer watch” and I couldn’t really find anything by googleing it. But as my last name is Fischer that’s where the important part begins.
My watch journey started through my father’s influence. He always had a huge collection of watches witch he regularly showed off to me and was very proud. In his younger days he also tried hobby-watchmaking, but as he sadly isn’t too talented with crafts he never really got very far apart from changing straps batteries and on occasion crystals.
This year my father got diagnosed with cancer and went through tough chemotherapy and even stem-cell-transplantation. All in all he made it through all of that quite well, but it really took its toll on him.
I’m really happy he is better now and made it through and to commemorate that I decided I want to gift him something. There comes that “Fischer watch” into play. As my father’s name is also Fischer it seems to me like the perfect gift to give him to associat his achievements to health with, especially as he also is a lot into watches.
Did you ever gift a watch to someone important to you? Did that present have a special occasion? I’d love to hear some more examples ☺️
We got so little time on this world, only thing you can do is put it on your wrist.
Lovely watch! Reminds me alot of Nomos. I recently gifted my older sister a quartz Cartier Tank for the birth of her son.

Thanks a lot! I also like the look a lot.
Wow a tank is a great gift. I heard that a few times now. Maybe I should consider that for my wife 🤔

Yeah now that you said that I can’t unsee it. I really don’t know anything about the brand, also the movement is only branded with “Fischer watch” so there are also no clues 🕵🏻♂️

They are pretty affordable when bought pre owned! I bought my sister's on auction for 730 euro, in like-new condition.
Great gift to your father to honor him. 🍻
I gifted my girlfriend last Christmas of 2021 this Seiko 5 SYMD93...
Then in 2022, she got into spelunking/ hiking with her girl friends. So, I gave her this Timex Expedition Field Mini...

Both look great. Very fitting in size for her wrist 👍🏻
Good to hear your dad is doing better, you're hitting a home run there. One of the most fun things about watches is giving them to people. I've given watches to friends, family, coworkers, my gf.

Yup, she prefers the classic ladies size of 26mm 💯

Thank you very much. That’s really nice of you to say 😊
