It took a while for me to pull the trigger on this one. I’ve read some reviews on Yema and they weren’t great. Also I’ve never been 100% sure that I wanted a fully digital watch I can appreciate the look of them but they’ve never really done it for me.
I saw this on another WC post and for the first time felt like I’d found a fully digital watch that spoke to me. I’m someone who is generally quite wary of buying vintage pieces as even though I quite like the designs I’m a bit worried about how the movements will hold up. This 70s inspired digital watch scratches that itch for me.
The watch is very pleasing to the eye with the red display strip contrasting nicely with the silver coloured case.
I also find the time display to be nice to look at, and the way it’s activated by the push button ads a fun fidget factor to what is basically an interesting bracelet.
The functionality of the watch is another thing in it’s favour. With it’s screwed down caseback the watch achieves 100m of water resistance. This is one of the rules I have for my watches (a minimum 100m wr), and most other similar watches I’ve come across either have a much lower wr or cost much more than I feel they’re worth.
Now onto the bad points. The quality control of this watch is okay but not great. I got mine at a discount but if you were to pay the full price for this watch you’d be looking to spend close to £250, for that you’d expect a decent level of finishing but their are indents where there shouldn’t be and the case in places doesn’t seem to fit perfectly if you look really close. None of it is bad enough for me to regret the purchase but it is there. Also the bracelet is really uncomfortable. It pinches and digs into the wrist no matter what I try. The lug width is 20mm and they’re designed in such a way that changing the bracelet out with a straight end regular steel bracelet is easy enough. However, as @benswatchclub pointed out in a review he did on it (a much better review by the way and click here to check it out) you’d expect a watch at this price point to have a wearable bracelet.
I still really like this watch and would definitely recommend it just remember it’s not perfect, but I’d say if you want a 70’s inspired watch this is a good one to go with.
Based in Stockholm Sweden, always been interested in watches recently become more active.
My best friend at primary school had a metal led display digital watch similar to yours but I can't for the life of me remember the name. I was 11 and it was 1975..

Yeah I’ve heard there we’re a few I think I heard that Hamilton had one. I was born in 84 so more of the f91-w and calculator watch generation, but I think this is more interesting. Probably going to get crucified for saying that.
Yep probably!!
A few of my classmates had led watches before lcd came along. I remember that being a big thing. I still had a normal watch with hands. I remember what it looked like but not the make. The led watches were definitely not Hamiltons. Far too expensive although it was a fee paying primary school!
How's the legibility in daylight?

It’s good. It is very bright, almost blinding in the dark.
