Unfortunately this is not a watch for me. This proves a rule I say a lot but have often not followed, try before you buy. However, I was blinded by the idea of the meteorite dial, the lumeshots that looked fantastic and the display caseback, which I have to admit I still like.
However, unfortunately the reality did not match my ideas. Yes the meteorite dial is different, I don’t have another watch like it, and in all honesty the quality control is very nice, I’ve actually tried to find faults to justify my dislike for this watch, but the truth is I just find this watch dull. The idea of this dial is a nice one and having a unique dial thanks to the meteorite aspect is fun.
However, the colouring on the dial and hands means that the whole thing blends together most of the time and that combined with the fact that the hands and indices are almost identical make for a boring face in my opinion. I want to emphasize that this is just my opinion and a lot of you will no doubt disagree with me on that.
Then we come to the movement. I still hold that it looks really nice in the display caseback and the artwork on the rotor is great. But this has got to be the noisiest rotor I’ve ever come across. I swear I heard it when waving goodbye to my kids from my car, and I’m nervous about moving my left arm in meetings in case others hear it.
Now all that could just be unique to my watch the meteorite dial means that all these watches will be a little different, but I think I’ll still find it dull, and the movement issue could be unique to my watch, but I don’t think I’m going to trust in that.
