So my God daughter was supposed to get christened 2 years ago but what with the pandemic and everything that had to be postponed but I sent over the traditional quaich and thought I’d get something else when it happens for real and it’s happening at the end of August. Both her parents like watches but like me don’t really know that much so I think they’ll like it and a watch might be something useful for her in the future as opposed to another quaich that most people just put on a shelf and let it gather dust. I’m still new to the watch enthusiast world and my wife has no idea about watches so I thought I’d ask here for any good ideas. I like the idea of getting her a mechanical watch instead of quartz and I’d like to keep the cost under $1000. It would be nice if the watch held some value and I’m planning on getting her one from 2019 when she was born.
Any ideas welcome particularly from any of the ladies on WC but I’ve really got no idea better than putting those filters into Chrono24 and I wouldn’t know what to stay away from. 🤷♂️

Hard to say without knowing the persons style, but to me something like this is classic.
Frederique Constant Classics Carrée
Looks like around $600.
Or this
Baume & Mercier Classima 10355
Closer to $1000
i would recommend longines dolce vita but thats over 1000$. so i would go with tissot t ladies series
