How attracted to the Limited Edition tag are you?

I admit that I’m like a magpie who’s seen something shiny when it comes to limited editions. I find myself drawn to it and feel like I have to have it. I realise that most of the time particularly with the big brands this is just another sales tactic, but I’m still drawn to them. After having just got my new ”limited edition” Seiko Speedtimer (10 000 of these by the way) I was just wondering how everyone else sees this.

I don’t have any limited watches. Nothing against them, but I’d probably just decide it was too much money and/or effort to get anything that was limited. I’m pretty lazy.

To be honest I need to be a little more like you. I’ve got 5 limited edition watches now and I’m sure at least 2 were cash grabs.

Look, we’re all lusting after and buying what we like. So if you like them, you should definitely get them.

For me, I like the idea but as I say, I’m lazy. For instance, when the Moon Swatch was announced, I was near NYC for work. Had I not been, I would never have even considered trying to get one. I worked the night before they were released and considered staying up to take the train into the city. Luckily I saw the pics from Australia and realized I’d probably be wasting my time. That’s as close to a limited edition as I’ve come. And yes, Swatch claims they aren’t limited, but when they’re that hard to get, what’s the difference?

"E." I would buy LE's if I really like the look/design of it.

I don't think I would bother to even consider LE's if the look itself doesn't appeal to me.

That sounds sensible. So you don’t care if the watch is limited or not you just go on whether you like the watch? Very sensible I need to try to ignore the LE tag a bit more and just look at the watch.

Yes sir! I don't care even if it is a 1 of 1. If I am not gonna put it on my wrist, then what is the point?

On the other hand if I really like the watch, then the LE tag is just the cherry on my ice cream. 😜
