This 1960's Favre Leuba Sandow was my first step in to the vintage market and It has always been a little gem in my collection. Despite being 60 years old it keeps excellent time only gaining 9 seconds a day and the case and champagne dial are in excellent condition for their age.

Favre Leuba themselves are the second oldest swiss watch company (Blancpain are the first) and they date back to 1737 so wearing this feels like wearing a real slice of history.

Amazingly the company still make the "Sandow" range which were designed to be tough sports watches back in the 60's. Given the condition of this one after 60 years that I got as an E-Bay steal for 拢220, I can fully endorse the durability of this little gem.

I don't know if I have just been lucky but if you are thinking of stepping in to vintage Swiss watches, Favre Leuba seem to be very cheap on E-Bay as opposed to other more mainstream brands so it's less of a gamble as a first buy.
