What do you think about the Zodiac Olympos?

What are your thoughts on the modern Zodiac Olympos? I really like the watch and the price seems good. Does anyone own the watch, or have you handled it? Is it quality, does it wear well? Also what do tou think about the Super sea wolf and Zodiac in general?

I have 2 SSWs. One is like what you have pictured with the 1.11 movement and another with the glass bezel and date window 3.13 movement. The latter is one of my regular wears and it’s great. There’s some concern about the STP Movements and it‘s warranted. The 3.13 keeps excellent time but has been inconsistent with rotor noise. It was thunky then quiet, then back and forth. Mysterious to me. The 1.11 has been acting up - gaining time very fast then settling in, stopping, etc. I don’t wear it. Those Field Olympos models are cool looking. They’re a welcome addition to a drab array of the usual suspects. I was tempted but I’ll pass on buying another STP. Take a look at their Pro Divers. They’re a touch bigger but have Selitta movements. I love the brand and their designs.

The Olympos caught my eye too, specifically the blue one with the green date wheel. I have heard the same skepticism about the movement, but I figure buying one comes with a warranty right?

I guess so. I might pull the trigger on one sometime this year. Hopefully it goes well

I’ve got an Olympos and a Super Seawolf.

The Olympos is 37mm and the Seawolf is 40mm. Here’s a side by side for comparison.

I’ve got a 7” wrist so here are some wrist shots to give you an idea of how they wear.

The Olympos has a really nice dial up close, obviously a little different in the field version. It could do with a nicer strap as it’s thin and a little cheap feeling but it does the job and in fairness does align with the retro feel.

I was initially worried about my Seawolf as the date wouldn’t change correctly for the first few days and kept getting stuck but it came good  after it bedded in and has been faultless since.

What's old is new again. We are enjoying a renaissance in the watch community. Watch brands thought dead are once again alive and thriving, old designs are reissued with modern flair, and the movements, whether automatic or quartz, are basically bulletproof. What a hobby!🙏
