Bumped my GMT1 on a door frame for the first time ever...warning signs to look out for

Was on the phone not paying attention, swung my arm and heard a thump. Realized that I hit my watch on a door frame for the first time ever and began to spiral. The GMT1 has a Miyota 9075 movement. How do I know if I have damaged the watch or movement? I don't see any aesthetic damage. Has been an hour since the door frame knock.

Watch movements these days are pretty sturdy due to antishock springs on the balance wheel jewels. If the watch had been made in the 50-40's or earlier, it would've come to a complete stop because the balance wheel pinions would've broke. I think you'll be okay.

(Speaking as someone who dropped her bulova devil diver onto a desk and onto the floor multiple times before she got a bracelet for it. It's only like 4 seconds fast a day meow~)

I have that Miyota, you should be ok.

I dropped mine (idiotic) on a (albeit) carpeted floor from several feet.

After you do it 20 more times, you'll stop wondering. It's fine.

It should be ok,done the same to my junkers several times,it鈥檚 still running(has a miyota too).

A decent watch should be able to handle a decent thump

You should be OK. Drastic damage would show up within the hour, if not immediately.

If I had a dollar for every time I've banged a watch on a door frame, chair, wall corner.... 馃槀
