An Indian living in Kazakhstan

I have always been an admirer of Watches. I remember pestering my parents to buy me a watch whenever the incumbent one went kaput. I bought a fake Tagheuer Carrera in 2012 but always felt guilty about sporting it. As a result, it did not get enough wrist time and ended in oblivion. My watch journey started in earnest on 14th September 2021 when I presented myself with a Seiko 5 on the eve of my birthday. That watch fuelled my curiosity, and I stepped into the world of watch bloggers and YouTubers. Since then, I have acquired a Casio Edifice and two Vostoks. I am a huge German Watchmaking fan and am travelling to Frankfurt in May 2023 to acquire a fully Tegimented Sinn U50. I wish to spend some time in Glashütte and document my learning. I don't know when it will happen, but I am sure it will sometime in future. Hoping to learn a lot by being a part of this fantastic community!

Hi Tim,

It is really nice to see your reply. I will surely get in touch as my travel date draws near.

Hi and welcome! 🙂

Make sure to check if your U50 is available before you start the voyage.

Also, in Frankfurt there's the Sinn boutique in the touristy part and the Sinn mothership a bit outside. I'd advise visiting the latter, there are usually more watches to check out and I find it fascinating to be exactly where the watches are being assembled.

Dear Rob,

Thanks a lot for the comment. I have pre-booked the watch and have received a confirmation from the Sinn sales team regarding the availability of the watch in May 2023. In any case, I will once again obtain the confirmation before booking my flights and applying for the Schengen Visa. As you suggested, I was planning on visiting the HQ Frankfurt Sossenheim to make the purchase. Cheers, Kishan

Catskinner

it's a pity you don't have the Carrera anymore because it's probably the best model they made.

Hey Claude. I hope to acquire a real one in the future. The one I had was a true copy, a fake. So, I never felt good putting it on.

It would certainly provide a great story to go along with the watch. Best of luck!!
