What’s your favorite brand?

I thought my favorite brand was Grand Seiko as it was my first luxury purchase. However, I have not bought a second one yet. Nomos, on the other hand, I currently own three and have owned an additional one. They are all very different but distinctly Nomos.

What is the brand where you could wear the entire catalogue with pleasure?

Omega, easily.

Wow!  This is awesome.  Can you talk more about why Nomos has captured your imagination so well?  I'm a GS nut, and as such, have blinkers on when I think about different brands.  So, to see someone deliberately making a choice to go with a different brand, even after GS ownership, is something I'd love to hear more about!

It‘s about design, in-housenes, and I’ve found it a nice community. These are things that Nomos have in common with GS, but I feel that the Nomos design speak more to me, it’s less serious.

I might try to write more in depth about this in the future.

Gun to my head, it's Omega. I only have one, but I would love to get 3-4 more, easy.

·

DOXA, although they've been off their game the last few years.

·

For me, it would have to be Omega and/or Sinn. I tend to prefer the watches from Omega, but from a value perspective, Sinn is very tough to beat.

Omega is great. I only have a vintage one now, but definitely a speedmaster in the future.

Interesting choice. I’ve not tried one of those yet, but hopefully will at some point.

It pains me to admit this with @HotWatchChick69 so hopelessly fawning over them, but I think I would wear every single watch Grand Seiko makes with pride. Do I need every dial color of "snow flakes in the evening dusk in mid January over Mount Hotaka"? Prob not.. but I would.

@tempus points out Sinn and I have to agree with their tool-ish charm too.

·

Tough one!! I'm still learning, searching, finding and exploring this crazy thing. I thought that I would be satisfied with a Price, Looks and Comfort model of this addiction with Orient, Nope!! Once I stared modding and searching for ideas I found myself becoming more interested in the 50s to 70s styling and history like the Seiko Pogue, Wolbrook WT, Sturmaski Gagarin, Alsta Nauthoscaph I could go on. To be continued........

·

Depends on the day.  I for sure lean towards GS though.  My current favorite watch is one of my two GS so that heavily influences my opinion.

·

I would agree with a couple others on this thread and say Omega as well. In my opinion they have figured out how to mass produce (in turns keeping cost down) at a very high quality across a very wide product range. Their consistency in quality and thoughtfulness on the little things also sets them apart.

·

So many GS-heads in this thread. Who knew? Here's another one. I own two, with a third on the way (waiting on the Peacock), though the second was a mistake in light of the third. Can I convince myself I need two Hi-Beat GMTs? I sat on the Shosho for a year and half, new releases came an went, so I bought it, then bam! a limited edition I had to jump on. Damn you Grand Seiko. Yeah, if I had all the money I would have all the Grand Seikos (except the Sport Collection; anyone looking at the Sport Collection is doing it wrong).

I also have a Nomos. I do like Nomos overall, but I got the one that spoke to me (the Metro Gangreserve), and it will probably stay the only one. I could be interested in others, but with all the other watches in the world (and new GS releases every other week, come on!) they'll probably stay on the back burner.

·

Omega if I had to choose (b/c of my Speedy)

·

A year ago I would have said Christopher Ward, I have five of them... Clearly they appeal to me. These days though, I might be inclined to say Marathon.

I might not wear the Marathon wall clocks, wash basins, or emergency candles with pleasure, but the watches? Definitely.

·

Favorites? Rolex, Tudor, Omega, Hamilton and Bulova. The last one does some really interesting historical pieces.

·

Great picture. I have just purchsed my first nomos and love it!!

Unfortunately i can't name a brand where i could wear the entire catalogue but Omega has many nice models.

·

Seiko for me. The staggering variety in all price ranges can keep me entertained forever.

·

I guess to some degree, I'm still learning, but I've yet to buy the same brand twice. There are just so many choices out there, I'd hate to limit myself. Plus a lot of brands have one or two models I really like and don't really care much for the others.

Congrats. It takes a lot to like the entire catalog but omega makes a good effort.

Yes, Seiko has so many different models to choose from. It’s also a big favorite of mine.

Casting a wide net is a great option.

Vertex

Tudor, I have three currently and at least two more on my very short list.

·

JLC.  Everyone forgets about them, but their watches span the gamut from dressier to more casual.  I'm fortunate enough to call this one mine:

That said, I do love most of Patek's offerings as well.

·

Good choices. You should try a Nomos but it depends if you like a more dressier watch or any sports watches.

Lovely watch!

I adhere to a strict one brand represent in my collection, but knife to my balls, i’d buy a Cartier or GS twice/thrice.

Still looking for my next GS and I have the seconds Cartier in my sights. Both are excellent brands.

·

Sinn. Definitely... I'd start with their entire EZM series then move on to a 900 chrono.
