Beware of this SCAM!

They almost got me!

I ordered a watch last week. I've been waiting for tracking information for many days now. Finally I started to get tracking yesterday. Today, I see a text reading,

"[USPS]: Your package has arrived at the courier station but due to incomplete information, it cannot be delivered. Click on the link now:".

I've had packages be held because of different reasons in the past so I was worried initially. I clicked the link and it brought me to a webpage that looked like USPS that required me to enter my info(name, address etc...). At this time I was still falling for the scam so I filled it out. The next page is where my red flags flew!

On this page they said, "We have to charge $.02 redelivery fee to update your info" and had a way to enter card information. 馃毃馃毃馃毃

After that I knew. I looked at the text. The wording was weird. They made weirdly worded comments like, "USPS wishes you good luck every day"....馃毃馃毃馃毃

I look closer at the web address of the "USPS" webpage and the URL had "USP" with no "S".

With that said, be aware of this scam! Upon researching a bit more, here are some things I learned:

  1. USPS doesn't have your phone#, and won't send texts.

  2. Official USPS webpages will have "USPS.com" in the address.

  3. USPS never charges a redelivery fee.

Don't get got, y'all!!

Scumbags! Thanks for the PSA 馃憤馃徏

I get it every week

Whoa, close call there my friend! Glad you spotted it in time. Thanks for the heads up!

Does this mean USPS doesn't wish me good luck every day? 馃ズ

I never click on links. I go and type the web page of the real agency and go from there. That way if it鈥檚 real, you will know.

I've been getting these exact texts this week! They included that phrase that tipped you off in the text on mine. Scammers always mess up somewhere. Glad they didn't get you!

I got screwed by this bastardry myself. I had to replace cards and make frantic calls. Very similar scam, but piggybacked on a package trace app. 馃槨

Yes. Like an IDIOT I got enmeshed. Never again.

I know for a fact that USPS does NOT wish you good luck every day!

Now if it was in fact the US Pharmacopoeia, then I wouldn鈥檛 doubt they were wishing me good luck every day

Thanks for the tip and glad you avoided getting scammed

I had this same text sent to me dozens of times and the thing is: I HAVEN'T ORDERED ANYTHING!!!!! 馃ぃ But yea, I'm always on the lookout for stuff like that.

This has almost happened to me too. The hilarious part is that scammers are more likely to deliver your parcel than the South African postal service.

I get every week crap like that for years, mail and sms, never open it, delete and done

Glad they didn't get you my friend 馃憤 hate these people they got my partners mum with a different scam,it's like there allowed to do it because bank won't help and you don't get your money back, even when I've seen them be arrested on TV you don't get your money back the police keeps it 馃like there allowed to do it.

Thanks for the alert. If you have your cards on your phone or care not to have your screen watched, please get your phone checked. It is very likely that they have access to your phone once you pressed on the link. Some scammers have a bug implanted into your phone through a hidden file that gets downloaded automatically when you click on the link. It allows them access to the phone and to view screentime. It does not have to be that way always but it is a lot of times so take care and be safe 鉁岋笍

Thanks for posting glad you didn鈥檛 get scammed

"USPS wishes you good luck every day" 馃槀 These scumbag weirdos just have to add these awkward messages don't they

I signed up for Informed Delivery from USPS. Now I get an email from the USPS showing me what is coming every day and if there are any issues.
