No problems with them ,they tell the time just as a watch should

·

I have no problem with it nore with those who wear.

I would just not. And I think they are only worth less thsn 10 percent of the retail price

I agree 100% with you. This is in fact my only designer watch, and I only got it because I took it in as a part of a trade last year (valued it at $200). Otherwise, I would've never purchased it for its $1500 retail price. I planned on re-selling it, but it just grew on me, and now it's my guilty pleasure watch. lol

I have no problem with designer watches.

I even own a LV watch myself along with my serious watches. If you like it wear it proud, embrace it, someone put their heart in to making that watch. it’s your money, and most of all it’s your wrist 😉

For me, it depends. I have a Bulgari Octo Solotempo. It’s a Genta design and uses a modified Vaucher movement.

My wife has a Chanel J12. It’s a model that’s been in their catalog for decades. It is an all ceramic case and bracelet with a very unique butterfly clasp. It uses the Kenissi movement also found in the Black Bay but with one more jewel to accommodate the date function. It’s also COSC certified. Chanel holds an ownership stake in Kenissi so they are definitely serious about their watchmaking.

I’m not opposed to fashion brands per se but they have to have some significance or inherent quality other than the printed name.

I don't think people have a "problem" with designer watches. I think the issue is when companies price their items at premium prices with a Swiss quartz.

Sample: Ferregamo for 1800 for a Ronda Z60

Then you find out the movement cost 30 bucks.

Again to each their own. I buy Jordans shoes so not only I pay 150+ for 20 bucks worth of uncomfortable shoe just for the design and the hype. Personally I like the watch 👍.

·

Wear what you like. Don’t listen to the noise.

·

For me, if the company making the watch is primarily not a watch company, then I just have no interest. Wear what you like though and enjoy, my opinion is just that, an opinion!

·

Some are fine if you know what your getting into. That one pictured tho, it's pretty cool.

·

As a former Gucci wearer, who am I to judge? It is not an unsightly watch at all.

·

It's certainly a nice enough, if derivative, style. But I can tell from your comments that it's obviously not long for your collection and will get the boot. And I think that's for the best. Personally, I couldn't look at that dial and not think, Why is a non-watchmaker on my wrist? It would be like looking down and seeing General Motors or Fender or Cheetos or something on there. Just a brand name, not a watchmaker.

Wow! You're a mind reader!!! 😱

See if you have it six months from now :)

·

Wear them if you like. No skin off my nose.

I wouldn't buy a Gucci or Michael Kors or Guess watch at retail because with those types, you really are just buying the brand name.

·

You like it or love it, it's yours!

Enjoy that watch!

Cheers!

My wife dragged me into a Gucci store last weekend. After closer inspection of the purse she had dreamed of, her opinion of the purse matches my opinion of Gucci watches.

·

Wear what you like. That’s the ultimate goal of this hobby. However, please don’t expect that designer watches present the same value or horological significance as other brands.

A Fender or Gibson watch might be quite good.

So you have no interest in Cartier?

Oooo... I can 100% imagine you rocking high edge fashion at work.

I love the design of some Gucci watches. As with all fashion brands, your paying a premium for the label and the design, not the materials. As long as you're ok with that then enjoy!

That bunny watch is rad.

·

As long as you like it, and feel that the price is appropriate, WGAF what the brand is...

I like that the designs are weird. We spend so much time talking about a handful of brands that we are "supposed" to like that it's good to see some fresh stuff.

·

It's a nice looking watch, but overpriced due to branding. That said, nothing really matters but the fact that you are pleased with it, and that it is your guilty pleasure. What price that?

·

Nothing wrong with it - can we stop holding “fashion watches” to the fire?

·

It’s just if you like it on your wrist nothing else matters

·

I don’t mind fashion brands making good quality quartz or mechanical watches. I don’t like the fashion brands that sell garbage, like MVMT or DW

·

My first watch purchase was a fashion watch and I still have it I don't use it that much because the glass cracked on me .but in all sense of the word buy what you like .

·

i dont mind them . its funny because i have a quite few . non watch geeks could not give a damn if their watch was a rolex or a gucci . i was gifted a lot of them and they remain in my collection but since i have started my watch collection journey i feel differently about them . they may appear high quality and expensive to normies but i know now how much these companies charge for a glorified mass-prodused watch with subpar specs with just a logo stamped on . So if you already have one or do not care about value for money or (v rare) find the design of a fashion brand watch amusing and different from others you go for it. Might as well wear it if you have it and you won't wear a piece you don't like even if it was from a very reputed brand. Your money your choice. I regularly where is mine and get compliments but inside i know id rather wear my cheap vostok than a calvin clien dive watch ( with 30m water resistance lol)

I've had a good think about my reply to this question. And the answer is no. I wouldn't have any interestin Cartier. My reasons is simple; I've never seen one that I like on my wrist, they're just too damn small. I know they're beautifully made and that we would still all be walking around with pocket watches if it wasn't for them but... they're just not me.

Same goes for JLC even though I love the idea of a reverso, it just looks like an after-thought on my wrist

Yea, not every brand is for everyone. However, I will say size should not be a contributing factor. All these watches should fit any large size wrist.

Not a bad watch (the Gucci), but that 2,3,4 date window - No.
