The perfect watch doesn’t exist?

My friend has a 36 datejust with a black dial and Roman numerals in steel and white gold - fluted bezel (ref: 116234.) He got it a few years ago at the airport tax free for £4K or so.

Gotta say it’s the perfect watch. Two things elevate it over the current black dial model - the extra interest in the dial from the Roman numerals - but more importantly - the awesome hidden clasp - so so much nicer than the current shiny hunk of scratch magnet.

I just think it’s basically flawless. He smashed his luxury watch choice with his very first purchase and wears it daily. Looks great with a suit or with jeans. Reliable as a tank. Price not even that bad when he got it.

What do you think. Agree with my assessment? or is it a dogs breakfast?

Something about the newer turnograph doesn’t work for me... vintage ones on the other hand are 😘
