Beautiful Blue Oris at a Sale Price
So it seems I am still in the grip of watch fever. A trip to the Oris boutique in Bond Street, London yesterday - I picked up this awesome jumper.
I was blown away by the big crown pointer date - especially the 38mm fume dial variants (a great collab with Cervo Volante) - and double especially the blue one. The coin edge bezel and the lovely pointer date function (so much fun to set.)
They mentioned in-store that the price had gone up that day by 10% to £1,800.
Long story short - I managed to get it online from Beaverbrooks for £1,250 with a free wolf watch roll (and using a £50 off valentines code.) - And even though ordered about 6:30pm it arrived today.
So far so good with it. Really lovely finishing on the dial. The strap has a nice taper and isn’t too long (a rare case where I am not immediately going online to get a better one.) The minimal packaging good - and some useful leather things in the box - a travel pouch, a card holder and a wiping cloth.
Overall - it’s great!

Might be worth hopping on beaverbrooks or similar while the sale is on and before they apply the price increase from 1 Feb (from £1,650 to £1,800.) I was tossing up grey and blue - but went for blue as 99% of my watches are black.
Congrats! Really love the pointer date. This shade of blue is just lit! If I didn’t already have the 80th anniversary bronze version, this would definitely be my choice!

Absolutely the best Big Crown model. Been eyeing that one myself for quite a while. Saw it in person at the Windup Watch Fair last year. The colors on all the Big Crowns are stunning in the metal, but that blue Cervo Volante is really the cream of the crop.

A little pop of red on the date pointer would be nice.
Could be worse - check out the original version from the 1930s. Date hand bigger than the hour and minute hands 😬
Awesome pickup mate. Wish they sold their merchandise online. There’s no Oris boutiques near me so zero chance of snagging one of those jumpers or any other gear. Well at least I’ve got the Propilot, so that’s keeping me happy.

Just picked up this red one a couple of months ago. In virtually any color, a gorgeous piece, that blue CV is stunning! I wish I could afford 3 or 4 BCPDs, the only watch I can honestly say that about. I do have my eye on the bright green /bronze one too.
