A lovely day in London - Baltic, Oris, Grand Seiko

Today I had an appointment at the Baltic Showroom in central London with a friend. Afterwards we had a wander and dropped in to Oris and Grand Seiko. The staff at all three outlets were brilliant - the type that will have customers coming back. So - here are the things I learnt:

- At Baltic - I can say the MR01 in 36mm is the perfect size for me. Makes the 38mm Baltics look too big. Also that - in the flesh - the blue MR01 is the dial to get - rather than salmon.

- At Oris. Firstly - the prices went up 10% today! Secondly - the little boutique near Bond street tube has some lovely accessories and apparel - I bought that jumper. They also sold a bear one and various boxes. Thirdly - I really liked the 38mm big crown with Cervo Volante strap - especially the blue dial.

- As for Grand Seiko. Prices also went up 10% today. Seiko is to follow on 1st March - so get your Seiko purchases in quick!.. We tried the 34mm Skyflake and the 38.5mm Omiwatari. Such beautiful things. The omiwatari in particular is perfect apart from two things. If I was picky - I’d love a slightly less shiny Omiwatari in about 37mm - that would be a Goldilocks watch!
