If you could only own 1 watch for the rest of your life, what would it be?

This might be one of the toughest questions to answer as our taste changes over the years, but if you had to pick one watch now to wear for the rest of your life, which one would it be, regardless of any budget?

After surviving with my 16750 GMT for 90%+ of my adult life, I can say that it's done the job well (for me, anyhow...).

Having said that and all things considered, I think an Omega Aqua Terra could be the best one watch solution out there.

Cartier Roadster Chrono XL.  First love, last love.

Like many other Chinese people, I am really big into the Chinese Zodiac.  I'm year of the tiger, so this would be my one and only lifetime watch:

Round Plastic Sport Watch – Justonesip

Timex Easy Reader 35mm reference T20041

It's got the day, the date, hacking, Indiglo. All in a right-sized case that is as unobjectionable and versatile as can be.

·

I'm still waiting for Tudor to make it.

Until then, it's the GS SLGH009 currently on my wrist :-)

My daughter would be such a fan.

I'd likely go with a Marathon TSAR. Tritium, quartz, durable, and Canadian. I'd have said Navigator, but the plastic case is less suitable for the odd time I need to wear a suit.

I am tempted to get into high horology brands with scenarios like this, but if we assume that we have to pay for servicing, etc, etc, I’d probably go with an Oris Big Crown Pointer Date. Just in case I’m not making Rolex service money down the road  lol

·

For me it would have to be the Rolex Submariner

I still sometimes think to myself shall I sell all my watches (that don’t have sentimental value) and get one, but I refuse to pay the inflated prices

without a doubt

I'd have to say Vostok Amphibia 420280

and I'm saying this as it currently is my only watch since I've just started this great hobby.

That’s a tough one. Just because I spend a lot of time on building sites, have 2 small kids and want something I can swim with, I’d get this g-shock.

Plus I like how it looks.

·

My Sinn 556 , classic tool watch with a utilitarian movement which is reliable accurate and easily repairable at many watch makers.

More to the point It's my most favourite kind of watch.

·

I took the practical approach to this excellent question. It has to be tough, accurate, long lasting, minimal servicing and not too bling. I came up with Citizen BN0201-88L.

Are you also waiting for a 40mm Pelagos, like I am? :)

I wan’t the BBB in a 41mm, but with the thickness of the BB58 and a date.  I’d never take the thing off.

·

This was decided a long time before I ever owned the piece- my Rolex 114060.

·

Omega Seamaster GMT 2334.50. I adore the early 2000s Seamasters and the GMT has to be the most versatile.

Any budget? Even higher than my actual budget? ALS 1815 Chronograph, black dial, white gold case. That’s my absolute grail. Beautiful from the front, mesmerizing from the back. Not oversized and way nicer looking than anything from the Holy Trinity at its price point.

If I had to pick something more realistic, say under $10k. I’d love to pick the Explorer but the Black Bay 36 gives me 90% of what the Explorer does for 1/4 the price on the used market. So I’d probably go with the BB36 or even the BB58. I own both and it would be hard picking just one of them.

Prolly this one, or something similar.

Been into Submariners for about fifty years, have had a few - still have a several.

Hope to be wearing one fifty years from now.

my choice wouldnt be something crazy, and i would like to wear it whenever i go

Great choice

·

GShock, maybe one of the square ones with a cleaner look.  Probably blue.

Just one to wear forever? It'd have to be my Aqua Terra.

It's not perfect, but it's the closest I've found. There's nowhere it seems out of place, and I have a tremendous attachment to it. There's no high-end grail for which that would be true, so I would just keep this one.

·

one watch to rule them all...one watch to bind them ...one watch to make .. ;)

·

Probably an Omega Seamaster Diver 300, white dial. It edges out the Soeedy due to the fact that I plan to sail a lot and I need the WR of The Seamaster.

·

The Sinn 556A.  I actually wish I could just have this one watch, and stop thinking about any other watch for the rest of my life, but we all know that ain’t gonna happen.

·

My totally bog standard Speedmaster (Hesalite and absolutely no limited edition...), on the black croc strap it came on. Its such a nice clean design, and I wore it for about 5 years as my daily - sometimes on a black Omega nato. I wear it less these days, but its still the one watch, I cant live without 😉

I think it would have to be my Brietling Super Ocean as it’s is good for all occasions and has been on numerous fishing trips with me, keeps great time and is happy in any conditions.
