I have a few requests to post my collection.

It’s a little eclectic. I’d love to hear how others with relatively large collections pick which watches they wear.

Wow, there's some big hitters in there.

What winders do you have?

I only have 3 mechanicals to choose from, and 4 swatches, so it's normally quite easy for me to pick.

Great collection! Very diverse

·

Wow with such a fantastic collection like yours, I’d have problems choosing a watch to wear too! 😂

·

Thank you for sharing your collection! This is an amazing group of watches. What piece gets the most wrist time? I think I see one Seiko LX Titanium but no Grand Seiko or other Titanium watches. Some people don't like the light feel on wrist. Are you a GS fan? I've owned 2 but I'm not super hyped on their dial finishes.

WC's WRUW was a great impetus to sort through my collection and actually wear every working watch in an intentional way. I divided the collection into subsets such as Seiko, vintage Swiss etc and wore each one for at least part of the day. Today I completed the Felco>Felca>Titoni subset with an exuberant Cosmo King. Getting reacquainted with underused watches was valuable in reminding me what looked good, what felt good and lastly in some cases what was I thinking. I'm on my way to posting 90 unique watches in 90 days and have yet to post any premium tier watches. While I will likely pick up another one or two this weekend at WindUp I've identified many in my mix that will be moving on. Celebrating 26 years of marriage today so the Cosmo King is working out as a fine special occasion watch.

What a diverse collection, congrats! I love that Kermit, haha.

·

A very diverse, high-quality, commanding collection! 😀 Cheers, and welcome to WatchCrunch! 🍻

Wowzers Beautiful!

You've got a Seiko Cub! Cool watch.

I probably would have one also but...let me relate a short story. So I'm on vacation and naturally visited a watch shop that I had bought from before. There it sat, a Seiko Cub that caught my eye so I asked about it. The sales person was not too adept at sales (not the guy I had bought from before) because he never even offered to take it out of the case, hand it to me to try on and examine. That is rule one in sales; put the item in the hands of the potential buyer. If he had, it would have been mine (if it fit) as the price is right as I found out later. Oh well. His loss, the shops loss as I doubt I will ever buy another watch from these people.

·

I got an amazing deal on it

·

OMG love the Oris Kermit! Tried it on at WW and was invited to a cappuccino <3 maybe I will get it in 1 year...

·

Sheesh... Jeff I just want to say thanks for sharing this. You have some crazy cool pieces in your collection there. I can understand why choosing/picking can be a tough choice daily! With my rotation, I really just try to wear what speaks to me in the mornings haha sometimes it's the same watch a couple days in a row, or a different one everyday. Hope you enjoy all of yours in great health sir! Some definite inspo for me!!

I have about 40 watches right now..... but my entire collection is probably worth less than one of your higher pieces there. But I have a small 6 watch box and I will go through my collection and pull out seven watches for the next week. I don't wear them in any order, but it means that each morning I just choose from that box.

I buy watches that excite me. I happen to be fortunate that I can afford some more expensive watches but I don’t buy extremely expensive ones. The only thing that really matters is the amount of personal satisfaction you get from your collection not how much it Costs

·

Great collection! I just follow my heart and go with what moves me. Also I might wear more than one watch in a day….

·

Honestly great question. After buying over a hundred watches I am about to whittle it down to 12 , try to sell the rest , and have only 3 that I want from now on ! Glasshutte Panamatic, JLC duo face moonphase, and gold Patek Calatrava, and then I PRAY I am freed from this astonishing obsession

·

I have close to 30 watches but I don't really have a strategy or a specific order for wearing them. Some days I pick one at random, another day it's because I thought of something that brought a specific watch to my mind ,and most of the time I just pick the one next in line.

I try not to put too much thought into this since I know that I will over analyze it which will end with sorting the collection into rotation groups and that will lead into thinking about themes and classifications. I can't be bothered with this idiocy of sorting emotional purchases into neat labelled cubbyholes.

100% agree. I love my collection, because its mine, and it represents my path in this hobby.

Nice collection! First time seeing someone else with the Hamilton Face 2 Face 3. Mine was an impulse buy and is an interesting take on the Reverso theme. Have 6 watches in the collection but I find I choose what to wear based on how I feel. Naturally some get worn more than others this way. Like another comment earlier, I tend to wind the watches the night before and decide which one to wear for the next day. Also make a choice on what strap to put on that watch then.

So all dress watches as final 3?

·

Compliments on the superb collection. That chronomaster sport is fire. There are some real interesting pieces in there. I just love those two green dial beauties (the GO and the Laureato)…and the Kermit 👌

·

Yes, I guess so, I have many great divers, tool watches, and world timers, so ! anyhow, I went through collection last night and I have about 20 I dont want around so thats a little bit of whittling down

·

Wow! Great collection. 2 questions I’d like to ask:

1. What is the watch centre back on picture 7?

2. I really like the lime Green dial in the Oris. I just don’t know when I would wear it or what with. What’s your advice?

Thanks.

BTW, my favourite is the Glashütte. I’m building myself up to buy the green dial 70s they released recently and I’m tempted to bid for a genuinely 60s GUB Glashütte in brown. Being East German, it’s quite exotic

It’s a really cool watch, my face tends to flip from time to time while I’m wearing it, it gets a little bit annoying

With my collection I wake up in the morning, yawn, f£&t and then look at my watches and wear whatever turns me on at that time!👍🏻

However if had yours I would grind those unimatics so nice n neat I love em 😍

·
