Veteran got ambushed by VC!
For years I was content with my Veteran Steel Blue Dial VCO Chronograph and never entertained the idea of adding a three-hander. Money well saved, but peace never lasts in the watch wilderness.
Christmas Eve afternoon, I got a call from the VC AD to apologize for letting go of my Cow Horns to another customer when I was unreachable traveling away from home. Then, I am casually asked if I am interested in a VCO, three-hander, blue dial boutique exclusive that just came in, at retail. Christmas Eve, with no present to myself, being offered a three-hander, blue dial, boutique exclusive, at retail, huh, I need to think about this one. Self-justified to me that it is money well spent! So I got in my car, and the rest is history.
Does any Veteran have a similar experience?! Is it justified, or was it irresponsible? Negative comments are welcome! What would you have done in this ambush? Honesty is much appreciated! 😊🙏🏼

You, kind sir, are in a different situation than am I. I don’t know what that situation is, but I know it is different.
Now the watch you got is excellent, and I could see myself purchasing such a watch were I to have the means. As it stands in my current situation, no I would not have purchased it. My finances are such that I am able to afford luxury watches, but it would be in place of some other luxury that would be for the family…maybe a hot tub, or a European vacation, or a bathroom remodel. Being my case would be trading something away, I am quite particular that I get exactly the watch I desire when I spend the money.

Were you ambushed probably, does it matter, not in the slightest , you're obviously very happy with the watch, would I have done it ,in a heart beat .if Rolex rang and told me my GMT was in then said they have sold it by mistake but offered a panda Daytona, would i,100%
I prefer the three hander. Maybe trade the chrono for something a little more gold? Or a little more Patek?

It's been a few years since I've trained on counter-ambush immediate action drills, but if memory serves it sounds like you executed the drill perfectly. Well done!
